I was very impressed with the Windies today. They showed a lot of character and didn't throw in the towel today. One problem they did have though was the no-balls but other than that they were very good I thought.

Disappointing no one could go on and make a century today. I think one of either North or Haddin or both, will do so by lunch tea tomorrow. The Windies performed above expectation and it could've been better if they held a couple more catches.

Mike Hussey made a timley half century, Katich showed again that he is the rock of the side as opener (love watching him grind out an innings in his un-orthodox style) and Watson failed in his first dig as opener on Australian soil. With each failure, the pressure will build.

I enjoyed Ponting's innings today as well.

Strange day of test cricket IMO. The wicket was good yet nobody went on and made a ton. Time for our batsmen to stand up and start making big centuries I think. Hussey jagged another few test matches with his runs and Watto left a straight one?? I though only Hussey did that..... Useless boys. Full credit to the Windies they had a good plan and did well. Now for some fireworks in the first 2 sessions on day 2 and it will be good.

Hussey made 50s in the Ashes, his problem was making 100s. Until he makes a 100, his spot shouldn't be secure.

I underestimated North, Australia could be at 400 and declared before lunch unless Windies start taking wickets. They might not declare before lunch though ...

The more I see of North the more I like. Only once out between 20 and 90 so far in his test career. He gets in and stays in. Seems to have loads of patience. Much better than watching Symonds look a million bucks for 20 and then throw it away again.

there was a noise ...

what is the point of a substitute feilder who can't catch balls like that one?

That is easily the best tool to use for catches along with hotspot. Must be some issues with the license as they didn't even show snicko a few overs later.
