wow....

I just tuned in for the first time since the lunch break (when India were 3/70) and couldn't believe the score is now 9/101. Nice to see O'Keefe giving it to Warne, by wreaking havoc with a 5 wicket haul.

Would not be at all surprised if Australia collapse in a heap

Even if Australia can take the last wicket cheaply, the test match is far from over. Australia have been notorious for their infamous '3rd innings collapses' (e.g. Barbados 1999, Adelaide 2003 etc.), and the most notable one was Cape Town 2011, where we started our 2nd innings with an 188 run lead only to lose the game after being skittled for 47.

On this rank-turner of a pitch, such as the one in Mumbai 2004, it is very possible we could get rolled for another sub-100 total if the batsmen are too overconfident and not careful, which slightly opens the door for India.

Australia need to bat well in this 2nd dig to put the result beyond doubt, and as I said yesterday, a fifty could well and truly be a match-winning inning. Renshaw's 68, as well as that 55 run last wicket partnership (and Starc's late flourish of runs) could end up being vital in the final outcome.

Plastic Fantastic just had to drop the comment in there about how SOK was not threatening early...

We will need to bat them into submission, Kohli is the best in the world when it comes to chasing

Performances in 1999 and 2003 are about as relevant as innings from 1899 and 1903.

Worst game ever for Warne, Renshaw our top scorer and and now SoK getting 6. I guess he's got Wades stumping to cheer him up.

Gotta get a minimum 300 run lead before India bat again though. Which we should surely be able to to do with this kind of 1st innings lead. Really wish Khawaja was in the line up though instead of the human paper weight in Mitch Marsh. Not sure what else he could be used for really.

Still awesome effort from the our bowlers, Haze and Starc making early inroads and SoK finishing the job.

Steve O'Keefe with a 6'er. Well bowled.

Where is Shane "O'Keefe is a white-ball specialist" Warne and Michael "I never wanted O'Keefe in the side during my captaincy" Clarke? Is it any coincidence that Clarke just happens to be in India commentating with Warne? Classic case of not what you know, but who you know.

Every Australian batsman needs to remember that their wicket could be worth 5 on this pitch..
