Kerry O'Keefe was on the radio this morning, declaring that the match was as good as won by Australia.

I'm not so confident - there's no way India capitulate like they did in their first dig, and we still have heaps of time left in the Test.

However, if we get close to a 400-run lead, with about a day and a half's play left, then I'd be quietly confident.

But as it stands, imo, we have a lot of work still left to do.
Skull was confident we could spring an upset this series, so far he is looking just a little smarter than our plastic faced mate Warne.

might be hard for us to get another hundred but I dont think we need to make them chase 400

we wont bowl them out for 105 again and we wont gt Kholi for a duck again that can be assured, but it will take them along time to chase the likes of 350 on a pitch that is deteriorating like this one and their ability to survive will be tested

we shouldn't f**k it up from here but I still remember VVS and Dravid's innings when we made them follow on however the pitch was different to this one

looking forward to the next couple of days

I think we'll be right. I think India will struggle to get 200. If our spinners don't run through them again then Starc and Haze will. The pitch doesn't just take spin it's also quite bouncy for an Indian pitch. Facing Starc on it after another day of wear would be no fun at all.

Decent result.

I think for a team with decent spinners this would be a good total. Not confident we will get the job done with the ball, but we are in the game! Lets hope Starcy has a big one.

Quoting myself for posterity.

Well done SOK! I can't remember the last time I saw an Australian spinner dominate like this. Yes its a shithouse pitch and you got a lot of assistance from it but you did a better job than the Indian spinners.

And I love this Renshaw guy. Even if you are still mad that he took a shit before lunch, the guy is vomiting and taking body blows and still making runs in difficult conditions.

Mitchell Marsh looks alright (touch wood). Hopefully he and Wade throw caution to the wind and blast some quick runs. Maybe the confidence boost will carry through the rest of the series.

Can we actually win a test on the sub-continent? You'd have to say its 90-95% certain...can we finish it off.

His and Wade's only hope is to play like an ODI innings and take the long handle to them because neither of them are test batsmen and cannot bat for long periods of time so I think its a matter of getting runs quick because they sure as hell cant get them slow.

Just watching back over the highlights.

Jadeja, Rahul and Usmesh got out playing some reckless shots to O'Keefe. I think O'Keefe being the 'new guy' and the pressure from the rest of the attack taking wickets really forced the Indians hand. If SOK wasn't in the squad I guess they would have gone after Lyon instead. Not taking away from SOK but we should put his 6 in perspective.

Lets see if he can get it right in the second innings. I actually prefer SOK to Lyon because he is able to hold down an end. Yes we know Warnie, you want an agressive/attacking leggie like Swepson but he wouldn't do the job that SOK can, good decision to play him for this game. If anything I'd drop Lyon for Swepson later in the series and use Maxwell for right hand offies.

Best thing is we've got some confidence. Even Wadey made a stumping! Can take us a long way.

On the subject of spinners, who remembers old mate Jason Krejza? 12 wickets on debut in India for 1.4 million runs. He sure could rip em!

Yeah I agree. Just about every delivery bowled to them has their number of it. Matthew 'hard hands' Wade never looks comfortable. They might as well bat like jerks and make 20-30 each.

The lead is already too big for India anyway (...touch Warnie's wood, at least it should be big enough).

If i was SOK i wouldn't think to much into what Warnie thinks, it wasn't so long ago that that he was pushing for the likes of Michael Beer and Bryce McCain and look how good their stellar test careers went.

Yes....

Add Rob Quiney to that list. He also bagged the f**k out of Mitch Starc just before he became the best fast bowler in the world. I like him having an opinion like Ian Chappell but he has to can his agenda.

Lets be honest, did our selectors actually think Mitchell Swepson should be selected on this tour? Or did they just go 'f**k it, lets go with Warnie!'

Now Jon Holland, that guy was screaming out for a call up. His results this year have been sublime. And he is a leggie! Just like Warnie! Surprised Warnie isn't backing him as Holland plays for the Vics.

Summary of Indian (and some others) commentary so far:

Australia bashed for not being able to play spin.

India prepare a pitch that is a rank turner, described by many experts as one of the most conducive to spin they've ever seen.

Australia bashed for not being able to play spin and told to stop whinging.

nek minut Australia 300 runs ahead with 6 wickets in hand

Australia told that they are only winning due to pitch conditions, and that a more fair pitch should be prepared next time.

Holland is a left arm orthodox spinner not a leggie

Jeez these marsh boys are good. Especially Shaun. Keeping khawaja out of the team for some inexplicable reason.

I don't even know who Khawaja's dad is. Did everyone think his dad was a great bloke? Did he even play cricket?

Go get a real dad Khawaja.

Warnie is the Waleed Ali of cricket. Tell us what to think Warnie!!!

Imagine the outcry if we served green tops to the Indians next time they toured, the wicket here from the first day was a disgrace, for the ball to bounce twice before reaching the batsmen says a lot about it.Having a home ground advantage is one thing doctoring pitches to your advantage is another thing, which makes it bloody funny considering the world of hurt India are in compared to the Aussies.
