Yeah Southee has had a average series, unless it is a green top next game, wouldnt mind seeing Nethula taking his place. Offers more with the bat as well.

no doubt this is a huge mistake to say, but this is so far a promising chase from nz.

wonder how we'll f**k it up.

loss of early wickets on day 5 and rain

You get through both of these, NZ in for a special victory imo

They're a slightly heavier wood, not lead. Unless someone as slow as fat Jaques is bowling it won't be a problem.
The commies were crapping on about this bail thing and said something about the heavier ones that were put on being bigger and that they should have opted for bails with lead inserted in the middle of them.
I hope the aussie supporters smash you

of course if your playing against a team that support SthA and england , then well i'll settle for a tie :D
The former captain (who is not allowed to play third grade any more because she is rated in a higher grade) of the team we were playing is South African and she was there today. My team were actually grilling me about my Protea support today. There is an Indian Australian girl in my team and she supports India, supporting India is much worse than South Africa. I think the rest of my team is 100% behind Australia. Don't know about our opposition though.

Can't help but feel like that was the one that got away...I'm not suggesting we would have chased down 401 (although McCullum and Taylor looked in good shape), but I was strangely optimistic after day 1 and even mildly optimistic after day 2. Yes, cricket's a 5 day game, but optimism at any point for the NZ test team is a rarity.

NZ team still lacks openers and genuine high quality quicks (although bracewell seems to be doing OK), But get brownlie back in that side, probably for Nicol, and you'll see more improvement.

Nicol definitely needs to go. He had all the luck in the world in that second innings and still couldn't score over 20. Looks like he will be retained though - the only change the commentators talked of was Southee dropping out for Nethula.

I'm still really sad about the lack of final day for this test, because I am certain there would have been a result either way and it would have been good to watch.

I was having a cry about the day being abandoned on facebook and a friend of mine said that New Zealand would have won. To that I responded "You can choose to believe that if you wish and I will choose to believe that my man Morne Morkel would have got the remaining 8 wickets with his next 8 balls and bagged a 10 wicket haul for the match". Bloody rain cost him something spectacular:fist::lol:

Agreed. A real shame that those first 4 absorbing days were effectively for nothing. If McCullum and Taylor had survived even the first hour we were a genuine chance. If SA nabbed an early wicket we could well have collapsed. Anything could have happened which is what you want from a day 5.

Bloody weather. :x
