It's a stunning combination, being both oversensitive and thick

Anyway, on the test itself, its even-Stevens at the moment, if Pakistan don't have a slight edge. They were certainly on top at 177/7, but the Southee/Williamson partnership has pulled us back. If we could press on and score 300- 350, it won't be the best result, but it would be ok. Again, McIntosh and Taylor were disappointing.

Southee gone first ball that he faces on the second day

261/8

We'll be lucky to get 300 from here. Pakistan on top

Last time Pakistan were here, Yousuf was setting terrible fields and Pakistan were fielding terribly. Yesterday's terrible blunder aside, Misbah's fields and the Pakistani's fielding has been much improved from then

As I say that, an opportunity to pick up Arnel is squandered

Williamson is not protecting Arnel at all

Williamson gets his 50, then throws his wicket away.

Martin to the crease....

I used to love watching this Taufeeq Umar bat in the early 00's. Then he just disappeared for years and now he is back.

Playing some cracking drives.

Geez 275 is never going to be enough on this pitch. Taufeeq Umar and Azhar Ali are having no trouble atm on a pitch that is offering nothing to the bowlers.

Hopefully we can get a few early wickets after lunch otherwise we're going to have to score plenty to get back in the match.

Yeah - but I think Kane and Jesse would back themselves to bat n save the match. If those two continue to apply themselves then I think NZ have the makings of a very good middle order for years to come with that Saffir bowler available for selection next year. Hey - works for England!

Imagine if Aamer and Asif played, a couple of no balls and minus 150 runs I'd say.

Yeah - but to be hoenst Pakistan are churning out the quick seamers these days. Their present attack is not terrible and I think Riaz could well develop into something really good.

As for me overrating Neil Wagner Fast Eddie - do you not think he is our most exciting prospect since Bond, and Paddles before that? Because I certainly think he is.

Then who is the best prospect?

Adam Milne?

3 FC matches 11 wickets at 27 in NZ at 4 runs an over...
and 8 overs against Pakistan in t20I where he got one wicket and went for 94 runs

Wagner on the other hand...

38 FC matches 162 wickets at 22.7 at 3.2 runs an over in NZ and SA including 6 5/fors and a 10/for!

Wagner has a better wickets and econ rate for 20twenty too.

Both strike at 42 in FC.

Wagner is the goods already and most importantly has control as a bowler. Milne is a raw talent who could materialise - but so was Southee... still waiting.

He looks like a pretty reasonable prospect but I wouldn't expect him to do amazing things at International level....well not for the next few years anyway. Bond was never a young prospect anyway on that point. He debuted at 26.

but so was Southee

feel sorry for Southee, f**ked around by admin/coaches and not allowed to play his natural style of game. He was a very promising bowler..
