Ajmal 7/55. What a gun. Now let's see what the Paki batsmen can do on this pitch. Wouldn't surprise me if Hafeez made a century

England are doing it wrong too as if they didn't even witness the first innings. Seamers aren't threatening on this deck at all

Despite everyone telling them they'll need two spinners, they went into this match with just Grahame Swann, who looks in horrible touch.

Wasn't sure what all the hype was about Saeed Ajmal, but hasn't he improved since he last played Australia. Made England look like Zimbabwe.

I think a lack of cricket in the past few months will hurt England this series, especially playing on the tracks in Dubai.

After watching Ajmal bowl last night, I really dont understand why the poms are having so much trouble with such an innocuous bowler.

He bowls with a scrambled seam so not too many of his offies actually turn. Most of the wickets he got the batsmen were playing for spin and it was his straight balls that got most of the wickets. Way too many LBWs off straight balls where the batsmen were just hitting across the line of the ball.

Bad shorts, not really good balls from what I saw.

The ones that turned did bugger all, Swan really didn't trouble the Pakis when he was bowling.

Looks a decent batting pitch imo.

Ajmal did take a shit load of wickets last year so it's not just the English falling apart to him.

From the highlights I saw, the Poms had trouble picking the length of his deliveries. Doesn't really matter how much it spins if you mis-judge the length.

Hopefull Pakistan bat all day today, and at least a session tomorrow. A nice 250 plus lead to be had

Looks like England’s woes on the subcontinent/Asia are set to continue.

With tours to Sri Lanka and India this year it is hard to see them holding their number 1 ranking.

England will have to bowl extremely well to dismiss this extremely patient Pakistan batting lineup who have the ability to bat for long periods of time. This Pakistan side is very strong atm, where they have been brought together by a fantastic captain. It's a shame he wasn't made captain 5-10 years previously.

Agree 100% mate..

I'm amazed how quickly the Paki's have been able to re-build after the spot fixing scandals..

Their talent production line is very impressive..

I'd love to see them beat the poms..

That's right. Lets also take into account that they also don't play at home anymore, and haven't lost a series since the spot fixing scandals.

Misbah cops a lot of criticism for playing defensive cricket, but until someone beats them, there's no need for him to change it.

Still trying to get my head around this "teesra".

So it's a regulation offspinner, with backspin, that goes straight on like an arm-ball?

Right?

I'm as confused as you..

It looked like Warnie's zooter..i.e the same as the slider & the other 10 names he gave to the same delivery..

Deception is a part of the spinners armoury that i love..It's all basically BS..
