There must be a good younger keeper batsman coming through right? Haddins old, lost form with bat and was/is never a good keeper anyway.

Put it this way Haddin is lucky Tim Paine is injured, and he islucky they don't feel Matthew Wade are ready, because Haddin is on borrowed time!

lol Tim Paine is average at best.

So you don't want a world class gloveman? Paine may not get 100's all the time (and yes I agree he needs to), but he never drops catches and that is the most important role as a keeper. With our attack we need every chance taken!

IMO if we get another 30, we can still win this.

I'd love a world class gloveman hence why I don't have an interest in Tim Paine because he isn't world class in any category except being another overrated Taswegian.

LOl Paine a world class glovemen. If he was that good he would already be in the side.

Well batted Michael Clarke. One or two Victorian meltdown's on various forums have made my day

he bats well once an everyone thinks the sun shines out of his ass .. Simon is 100% bang on with everything he said , now cricket Australia will do to him what they did to Brad Hodge , who is the best batsman this country has ever seen in the last 30 years but yet because he spoke out, cause he had an opinion he got punished .... Its bullshit ..

Thats just from the Fox Sports page on Facebook

What shits me about Paine is that the selectors are super keen on giving him leadership positions in the view to making him Captain.. What changed over the course of 10 years that made it acceptable for a keeper to captain in their eyes??? If Gilly couldn't captain his country because he was a keeper then Paine sure else hell can't.

Aust 8/234

Clarke 122 no, 46 runs shorts of his highest test score

If Siddle can hang around I reckon he could beat that, scoring at a sublime rate

Didn't watch yesterdays play ...

But after watching the first half hour this morning I would say a first inning score of 250 could be a really good score on this pitch.

That is ..iIf our bowlers bowl well .. and that is a big IF!

Steyn really needs to take the next two wickets quick before someone else does. Him taking 8 in the second is a big ask, particularly when conditions then will better suit Tahir who is a very attacking bowler.

Seth Efrika are bowling without luck so far..A dropped catch & we have played & missed countless times..Plus we've been lucky with a couple of french cuts..

We are batting very intelligently though..Clarke is composing a masterpiece out there in difficult batting conditions, against the No1 rated bowler in the world, who is swinging it like a banana..

Sidds really impresses me as a man for a crisis..Say what you want about his bowling (& i'm certainly not in his fan club) but his batting at 10 & 11 for us has been outstanding..Hopefully the confidence he gets from this knock translates into wickets when he bowls..

300 looks half a chance if the boys can keep it together..Who would've thought that overnight??..
