What a stunning victory.

If we can defeat RSA, 6 months after demolishing Australia, will England be the best test side in the world? Or maybe Pakistan?

Personally I think its a very muddled and even contest across the board atm, minus Sri Lanka and the Windies.

But I'd be inclined to give England the edge just over Pakistan and NZ.

No bait.

I wouldn't include Australia until they can perform overseas. They were utterly embarrassed by Pakistan and couldn't handle spin. And then they were overwhelmed by England, failing to handle the seam and movement.

At home Australia are impregnable. Smith, Warner and co are unstoppable on these flat wickets . And they're still handy overseas. But it's the rest of the batting line up that looks utterly useless in any other conditions.

The Test series in NZ will be very interesting.

lol

I read an article last week saying that if we beat Windies and Saffas lose to the poms, then we go to No 1

RFM can bowl at the stumps too.

Needs to in swing, though.

Pattinson has good in swinger, but most RFM who swing well bowl outswingers.

There are exceptions of course. Anderson for example.

But a left armer over the wicket. That is the line to get someone moving across their stumps. Starc knows this.

.

This - RSA slumping a lot, Aussies seem to have forgotten the Ashes and Pakistan... everyone's pretty close, which is fun really. England not getting a lot of love, but then if McCullum hadn't gone genius we probably win at Lords and win 2-0 (that seems to be the way for NZ at the moment)

Some can. Boult can for example. But its not his stock or predominant ball. Outswing to the left hand hander is. Which is inswing for a right handed batsmen.

god you talk some shit

some lefties can only swing the ball away (from the rhb), not everyone can swing the ball both ways

Name a leftie who only bowls inswing playing at the moment?

If you can, then name 2.

do you seriously want me to explain to you how every bowlers swings or moves the ball, or do you just assume they can all swing it both ways ?

(which would be incorrect as some dont swing it at all)

cant you find that on statsguru ?

lol

Good win by England without Anderson.
Are South Africa on the slide? or did England just perform on their favorite hunting ground Kingsmead which they haven't lost since 1928.
I am glad Compton has gotten another go and scored some runs. The next test will answer some questions on South Africa.
