Makes SOKs FC career remarkable last 10 years

Pity had regular off field issues, would have played twice as many FC games, and I dare say Lyon only plays as many tests as Hauritz

He's an interesting bowler. Better record than Lyon fairly easily, but if anything he spins it even less than the BOAT. Just a more attacking type of bowler who targeted the stumps a lot and always went for no runs

Missed out:

Handscomb
Maxwell
Marsh
Agar

All over 30 and in line to play champions trophy. Some of them are 3rd or 4th choice back ups for spots in the test team so I'm happy we have moved on. The ejection of Marsh is the most obvious choice. He is behind Webster and Green and at his age should just focus on white ball cricket and making money in t20 competitions.

Add Zampa to that list, as he's usually in the conversation.

TBH, I wouldn't be sad to see none of the 5 (the 4 you mentioned plus Zamps) selected for Tests moving forward.

Crickets a funny game, 12 months ago Marsh would have been undroppable. Now, we can't see a way back in for him.

On a slightly unrelated note - Smith was talking about going to the Olympics in 3 years, and focusing more on the shorter form. Makes me think he may retire from tests following the next Ashes. It's conceivable that Khawaja, Starc and Lyon may also retire around then

Yeah I heard that convo he had

I was hoping the last year or so he would drop white ball format, and focus everything on test cricket, extend his test career, and improve his form to where we know it could be. But looks like its the other way around , wanting to play white ball all this time, cause tests will be the first to go

Cant blame him, will be 38yo in 2027 , May as well pick up juicy coin from the many t20, t10 leagues around till his early 40s

only way back would be to get a heap of runs in sheffield shield - though probably not possible since he would be playing white ball games

He has a way back into the test team if he wants to play in the Ashes. Bucket load of first class runs. Fit enough to bowl overs. If Green or Webster go down then the spot is open.

But at his age you'd have to question whether he wants to do it. The IPL will clash with the end of our shield season. Why wouldn't Marsh retire from red ball cricket and focus on the shorter formats? He is a good short form cricketer and the workload won't be as taxing on his body.

Unlike Maxwell and others he has had a good stab at test cricket. Been a part of multiple Ashes campaigns and actually played an important role in those wins. Something to prove I guess but who gives a shit at 33. Play white ball and win some tournaments.

I'd be surprised if he does tour.
It looked nasty, and his reaction shows just how much pain he was in.

Some folk reckon they saw bone.. I didn't look that closely

Lloyd Pope or any leggie besides Zampa. Just to hear his follow up reaction.

Selectors should come out and say Zampa was close to initial selection and was next in line

However due to his little puplic spat, they decide to stamp his papers

Love to see Zampas follow up reaction after that 😁

Lyon stays until he says he doesn't want to continue any longer which will probably be after the ashes.

FMD the disrespect this bloke gets is mind boggling.

Disrespect?

Lyon gets the exact amount of respect a bald medium pacer who's held their place in the team because of internet memes and a shitty Matt Wade nickname deserves FFS

Bald men don't get respect.

Lloyd Pope is a big no for me. Tanveer is better but he's green.

The bazballers select players based on release point. Whose the tallest person in Australia?
