Just saw the eels dogs game is at telstra stadium on sat night. And the cowboys warriors game is in townsville. How is this fair to the eels as for one we finished higher on the ladder then the dogs two we won our first semi away yet we have to play the dogs on there home ground. This is wrong, if we have to play there so should the cowboys warriors. Not happy Jan!

dogs home record for the year was won 4 lost 8, so telstra isnt exaclty their strong point this year anyway, we'll just do our best to outnumber 'em in teh crowd on the nite!

This is like the old days when everyone thought Easts had a home ground advantage at SCG . Well , I know different time , different team , but I recall Parra beating them there 13-5 1977 Final , 12-8 1981 Major SF and 33-0 1982 Final.

It's all about self-belief , faith in your ability and COMMITMENT.

GO EELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

having to play at telstra stadium still suck as far as i can see...

we finished higher on ladder, we won the first week and the dogs lost theirs, finished one place down..

how is that fair host a "home" game at the opposition's ground? only NRL can come up with such a crappy decision

well considering we have all 3 grades at the place next week we should have a decent crowd there

Okay guys, Where do you want it? The SFS which will be sold out by Tuesday 9:10 am, or Telstra where at least if we sell out the first 40 thousands, we can still put more on.

Honestly that is your choice. No Parramatta Stadium, the SFS or Telstra. The SFS, you might not get a ticket to.

The Stats are right, they are 4 from 11 at Telstra (there other home game was at Suncorp). I would even put them in the Home Dressing Room.

Who gets preference over the western terrace? (the side players run out on?)

It would be unfair if we were made to sit to accomodate their regular season ticket holders.

I bet you all the tea in China, ticketek will reserve tickets on the 30,40 & 50 metre line for doggies supporters.

Even if they do,

I also think there will be equal reserves for Eels Season Ticket Holders.

Stadium members? How many of them are there?

Basically, I'm planning to get to ticketek tommorow morning early.

If I cant get a ticket atleast 30 metres out and 25-30 rows up, I'll be pissed off.

Where's everyone sitting?

that wouldn't make an ounce of difference, they are a definite threat for not only us but the rest of the comp.

I've been thinking about this and came to the conclusion that if we get through and beat the dogs on Saturday it would be the greatest finals [not including Grand finals] victory since 1981 where we beat the Roosters at extra time to qualify for the gf.

would the old timers who remember that game agree???

TBH Eela I don't remember that game against the Roosters, but you would think that if the Eels end up beating Melbourne after the beating the Dogs next week that that would be the greatest semi win.

But, I'm trying not to get ahaead of myself.

who's Melbourne???? the only team I'm thinking of is Canterbury at the moment.

The Roosters were minor premiers that season and red hot favourites to take the title.

a tough night game at telstra is exactly what we need to improve our chances of winning the comp though i'd prefer it not being the dogs we were playing there.

the thing with home ground advantage isn't so much the home crowd, that makes up a very small part of the advantage but the familiarity with the surroundings and environment of the ground (ie. signage, winds, slopes of the ground, field dimensions).

if we can jag a win on saturday and go on to the gf the saturday night game will go a long way to helping us win that game. i don't see playing melbourne at the telstra dome a disadvantage as they haven't played there in a long while. the ground will be as foreign to them as it is to us.

having a night game at telstra is the best thing for us. i wouldn't be surprised if most of the nrl comp winners since it was moved to homebush had one or more night finals at homebush in the lead-up.
