Well what do you expect man? I respect Tupac no question about it but i mean his music now it's been tampered with by shit producers such as Eminem. If Pac was still alive man he would be tha bomb, he would be incontrol of the rap game.

What about Prophet??? Did you like that???

I don't really consider that a Posthumous release given all the tracks had previously been released & there was nothing new for me on there.

I was happy that they didn't remix my all time favourite song - Staring At The World Through MY rearview :) :)

Yeah I actually like the pre-death row recordings alot more than after he went there (which was why i am so utterly dissapointed in L2TG - There was no need to let Marshall remix the pre-96 recordings) BUT Staring At The World is definately the best song he ever recorded.

Hmm i respect your opinion but for mine it's not the best but it's one of the best. I don't really have the one song recorded by Pac that i can say is the best.

Hail Mary and God Bless The Dead...there ya go.

God Bless The Dead.

lol, please don't tell me it's because he's predicting Biggies death lol

GBTD was a good song, but there was a reason it wasn't released when recorded.

Hail Mary, like most of the DK7 album is vastly over rated.

Hail Mary ain't over-rated.

The entire cd is. People go on as if it is the best Hip Hop cd ever recorded.... It's not even the best Pac recorded, let alone the best rap cd ever lol (Me Against The World is Pacs best)

The cd is jam packed full of the paranoid ramblings of a man destined to be shot for running his mouth.

I rate shit on its lyrical content. Thats it. Hail Mary has f**ken ill content for a rapper of Pac's type...

That is why I rate guys like Canibus, Vinnie Paz, Immortal Technique and Chino XL etc above both him and Big.

I dont give a f**k about beats, coz when it all comes down to it, the record is released as a rap record, by an emcee, not a producer eg. not like P.Money's "Big Things"

I actually think the beats on DK7 are better on a more consistent basis than MATW to be 100% honest.

I actually agree with you too a point on the DK7 album, the songs were structured better than MATW, no question.

& rating someone purely on how they structure their lyrics means nothing when the album is full of paranoid ramblings that you do nothing but sit their shaking your head at.

What I will always find sad is his next album was "for the fans" or Me Against The World V2. MATW topics, combined with his increased lyrical skills post prison - Essentially, an album where you can take what he is saying seriously rather than just laughing at him.

& Hail MAry is pure rubbish. Don't kid yourself.

A perfect example would the the recent NAS album which we've talked about before. Based on lyrical content alone. You could call it a classic album. Theres nothing wrong wtih what NAS says, or how he says it. The problem is though, that his flow is off beat on almost every track. That completely over rides the excellent lyrical content of the album because you sitting there wondering what he was thinking, or if he even was listening to the drum machine in the background.

Hip Hop is not purely lyrical content. There are many factors that make 'classic' songs/albums.

Rap is about lyrics brah. Flow is unfortunately judge a hell of alot more. Nas' new album is solid, but Illmatic is def his best ever work. Pz.

Oh I think Nas new album is a bunch of shit other than maybe a few songs.... & my point was Hip Hop is not solely about lyrics - eg: Nas new album, even if it is a major judgement factor.

BUT sngs are not purely judged on their lyrical content no more... If the album has a bunch of shit beats, no one will listen. If they are rapping truely stupid shit... No one will listen.

Em is a perfect example of that. He is an exceptionally talented writer. One of the best ever in the game. However, because of the ridiculous rubbish he speaks at times... Many, many people don't take him seriously.

Which is sad.

Rap is all about lyrics...hip hop music involves the beat etc. I'm talking about cats on a rap level, judging their emceeing ability.

Eminem has been wack for 6 years bro, occasionally dropping some ok verses, mainly freestyles. Slim Shady LP was f**ken ill, but other than that.....

That's not the way Hip Hop has travelled though man. There will always be purists out there such as yourself in the underground scene, but on a large scale it's moved beyond pure rhyming skill. Look at the amount of sales that moron 50 Cent gets for example.

Almost agree with you here man, I thought Marshall Mathers had 4-5 real good songs. But since, yeah definately agree.

He is forsaking talent for sales, which you can't neccesarily fault him on (He's alot richer than me or you lol) ... But as I said earlier in the thread... It is sad because the boy had so much talent as a writer & freestyler - Which is an unusual combo - Pac for example could write amazing raps, but could not freestyle to save himself.

I just wish he hadn't ruined Pac's cd :(

I agree with you man. But Fifty is not an emcee, he is a rapper. The difference? An emcee is a microphone controller, someone who can hold down the mic, spit lyrics, play with words, come original. Fifty is a rapper, rhyming things that are inconsistant, and hardely even make sense, i.e Talks about shooting on person in one line, then the very next is a line about cars lol.

I wouldnt consider myself as an underground purist, more of a fan of the 'true school', guys like KRS1 etc, who are mainstream, but have kept it true.

Marshall Mathers LP was ....probably the lowest I would go to listen too. i admit the track "Remember Me" was fricken good lyrically, but yeah otehr than that, it was mainly bullshit imo.

Unfortunately hip hop has become a hole for which White Corperates can exploit yet another industry till it has nothing left, inwhich they can move onto the next. Look at what they did to soul and jazz. Personally I cant wait till hip hop becomes "un cool" again, and maybe then we weill see the revival of the True School, and return "back to the days, when wack muthaf**kas used to get thrown off stage (Immortal Technique)".

Haha oh yeah and Game is a real hard gangsta...same with Cube lol. You hate them coz they arent gangstas...you hate their music because of who they are? You are therefore disgriminating against them...you might aswell say Shane Warne is a useless cricketer coz he smokes....or Michael Jackson is a crap singer coz of his little situation. Dont judge someone's talents based on personal traits. judge them on their talent alone. And vice versa. 1.
