2 South Sydney Players rushed to hospital

From what John Lee was saying at the press conference just then it sounds like they were in a pretty bad way and are lucky there was someone with them at the time to call 000. They've been sedated for medical reasons for most of the day and are still not able to communicate properly.

Thoughts are with their families right now.

Why would they need to be sedated if they've overdosed on pain killers? Wouldn't too much sedation be the problem? Wouldn't they need to be un-sedated?

Who knows, they could have done some damage to their brains, organs or whatever due to respiratory depression from the opioids. Perhaps its just to help them recover better.

You dont just simply overdose on pain killers unless you are trying to do so..

If you are taking more than 2 or 3 of the same medication at once you aren't accidently doing it, especially if you are doing it with a mate at the same time.

Also, when was their surgery? Had they been taking the normal prescribed dose for a day or 2 before this incident? If so, that null and voids any accident as they claim.

I reckon you underestimate how stupid some people are.

Ok, so I just read that their surgery was last wednesday, so that means that they had been taking the medication for 5 days with no problems, presumably the prescribed amounts. After taking the medication for 5 days, all of a sudden they dont know how much they should be taking and 'accidently' take too much. hmmmmm.

Surely not even the dumbest most die hard souths fan could defend these 2.

Absolute nothing article. Complete and utter media beatup. They were making it out like they were on a roid-heroin-ice cocktail. Simple accident to do with prescription legal medication. Move on. Nothing to see here. Private medical issue.

Only simple to do if you can't read or count.

It was. No criminal conviction means no evidence of a crime. And we don't live in North Korea. We live in Australia, in this country we have the presumption of innocence until proven guilty. And that presumption goes for everyone, including players of teams you dislike.

That would be Souffs.

they may not have taken more than prescribed, but not as prescribed, it's designed for slow release, you are supposed to swallow tablets whole, crushing them makes the body absorb it faster, leading to overdose.

To be fair, professional sport has had problems with this sort of thing for years and its all been swept under the carpet and covered up by some managers, players, clubs and bosses.

That said, why you'd be tempted to misuse your prescription medication is beyond me. Not a smart thing to do at all.

People misuse it because it is super fun, I'd say

Innocent until proven guilty, then still innocent is your take on it.

I don't care what they've done in their own home during the holidays however your take on it is absurd.

They were more than likely up to no good (in the NRLs eyes), it's obvious....just admit it.

I'm shocked.

I think the Rabbitohs should release Gray and Walker immediately and replace them with Hopoate on full freight to send a message.
