Damn, how long are they going to take before they allow us to make roster changes. So many crappy players in my team that I want to drop and give me some room for next seasons draft picks.

i'm sorry mal, i don't know how i missed your post.

the draft can work two ways - since no free site will cater for a draft with only rookies and free agents nobody wants we will be a little limited in what we can do.

the first option is to have the draft in this forum. this option is difficult because it will be nigh impossible to have everyone here at the same time and there is no player rankings to fall back on. we could try to do it over a period of days but that could prove difficult as well.

the second option is for me to just enter every team into the new league and simply make the waiver period a few days and everyone can try to claim whichever player they want. of course this option is painful because your waiver list will have to be quite long as nobody knows who will be available when their pick comes up so they will have to pick a fair few players to ensure they don't come up empty.

if anyone has any suggestions they are more than welcome to share them here.

but whoever wants to join must convince me they will stick around for the long haul because this is a dynasty league after all.

if there are any openings i will say so when i start a thread for next season. make sure you keep an eye out for it. it will probably be around late july/early august.

Glad we get to keep our players though. As I drafted for the future, and hoped (poorly) that I would have some success last season as well.

Can't wait till next season to have another go as thats 2 seasons in a row I haven't made the playoffs.

Oh and can you post what everybody's team lists were at the end of season, so I can start scouting for next season. I like to read Yahoo's NFL section on my night shifts at work, passes the time.

Suggestion;

Starting with lowest team, they nominate in here their draft pick and who they're dropping. (That will make the dropped player available). Each team is give a time-limit to make their choice. That way, if you only want one from the draft you can say so after you make your first choice then forget about it until the season starts.

We can do it once the draft has taken place so we will have plenty of time to get it done.

And do it in a specific thread that everyone can bookmark.

the draft will be longer than one round.

managers can pick as many players as they want so it could last a few rounds. of course if you only want one player you are only involved in the first round.

it should be similar to the waiver wire.

however, if we want to make it a little more realistic we could have a 5-7 round draft and then have a cut off date where you can nominate how many of your draft picks you will keep and who you will be cutting from your squad. that way if someone breaks out during camp or preseason you have a better idea of who you want to keep.

that may make the process even more difficult but at least you won't get screwed if an injury catapults some player up the depth chart.
