And our crowd today, whilst a bit disappointing, was what I expected with the inclement weather. I was a bit surprised by the lack of Parra fans at the game though. There would of been 11K Souths fans of those 15K.

One tends to forget these things.

But deadset, I would've expected a few more to trot out for their first game in Aus. Especially when Parra is only around the corner.

that is a pathetic turn out from parra fans , FFS parramtta is 10 mins from homebush!

the bizzare thing is if they had held it at parramatta there would have been 12K parra fans there , sure a lot of them have season tickets for parra stadium but this was the first opportunity to see their team this year , pathetic.

Round 3 predictions?

Broncos v Panthers @ Suncorp - 33,000
Eels v Tigers @ Parramatta - 16,000
Dragons v Cowboys @ WIN - 14,000
Sharks v Rabbitohs @ Toyota - 15,000
Storm v Warriors @ Olympic - 14,000
Bulldogs v Titans @ Telstra - 17,000
Roosters v Sea Eagles @ Aussie - 13,000
Raiders v Knights @ Canberra - 9,500

TOTAL: 131,500
AVERAGE: 16,438

To be honest I'm really worried about the Roosters. It is so flat and dead at the moment and the season could be a disaster. i'll be delighted if we get 13,000 but we won't get more than 11,000

The Souths Vs Paramatta game was disappointing, especially after such good numbers last week.

If we are honest cowgirl R1's crowds were nothing to celebrate.

look at it. Broncos as premiers at home in Qld derby was a nailed on 50,000. Titans bow at Lang was always going to go down well and the FNF pitting Easts V Souths performed well but let's be honest the Round was set up to maximise figures with two of lang's biggest games of the season. in NSW crowds were nothing to write home about apart from the age old Easts V Souths doing well.

Against that background 15,000 at Souths is OK and they will get more if the good run continues.

Are you f*cking kidding me with that comment.

We are known for our travelling around NSW. Your a tosser.

I will never ever look at any of your comments again after that proves you have no idea about rugby league.

They were a few parra fans there but a few were kept away but the wet. I agree this game there were less eels fans but most games in sydney have more parra fans than any other.

Homebush is practically a home game for Parra, since when does 10km down the road count as travelling?!

Let's not forget the fact that the weather has been bad.

Fo some reason RL fans don't like turning up in the rain.

I'm a knights fan. Give us a clear day, and we will give you a full house.

The Gold Coast crowd is the highest genuine home crowd for a Gold Coast team ever, the previous highest being in round 21 of 1997 where 15,872 showed up to Carrara for the game against Manly. Although you could probably consider round 2 in 1994 a home fixture, even though Carrara wasn't their home ground that season.

I also believe it's also the third highest attendance at Carrara, behind 22,688 in round 2, 1994 against Brisbane, and 21,012 between the Cowboys and Dogs in round 12, 2005.

Considering Carrara only has a capacity of 11,000 (ask AFL coach Dean Laidley:lol: ), that 18,000 turn-out tonight was a wonderful result. They must have spilled out onto the streets.

Absolutely... full credit to the people of Penrith, Leichhardt, Auckland and the GC for getting out there this weekend, even Townsville's was good stuff. Woeful crowds in Canberra and Kogarah (only one of which had a reasonable excuse) were what let us down.

First Cowboys home match since the GF appearance, a Wiggers vs Bulldogs game and decent weather is probably the difference.

Solid figures.
