definitely need to make being a member more attractive. its not promoted in the NRL well enough, never has been. that and the simple fact that people in sydney have a life, they can't make the footy every weekend

its a sad consequence of living in the best city in the world (IMO)

There's your problem right there.

 True that!!!

The Fruit Pickers i agree!! The thing that seriously sets the Bulldogs V Tiger's rivarly apart is the fact both team supporters don't care if it's a 'home' or 'away' game, they turn out in numbers!! I'm sick to death of games in Sydney between two Sydney teams not drawing big away support for the away team!

Thanks for the stats but can you use team nicknames

Lol, sure ill try to work on that

To dogylf and the fruit pickers -

Sorry bad choice of word, 'struggling', was just meant to highlight which teams are below last years avg. Not to suggest that they were struggling. Its early days and im sure that they can easily beat last years avg.

To legend -

Read something bout Parra leagues planning to build stands at both ends of the stadium, including leagues club offices. Supposedly they may not be to far off getting this off the ground. (Be aware that im not 100% sure on this - if anyone cares id suggest asking people in the parra forum)

can't wait for the Dogs v Tigers clash next friday night...last year the same game drew 32,500+ and Dogs were coming off a loss, plus both Benji and Sonny weren't playing. This game could potentially draw 40k+ but realistically i think 35k is something achievable to aim for.

Knights should have a 26k sellout this weekend - Joey tribute before the game - game not on tv - Knights a good chance of beating the hated broncos.

We only play the dogs once this year and its their home game, so may hurt our average a little

last year you's drew 22k to your home game against us. You can beat your average but you need some success on the field. Tigers v Dragons and Tigers v Eels are 2 games i can pick out at Telstra that should draw around 30k if the weather is good.

We're looking at, IMO, definitely two sellouts this weekend at Newcastle and Parramatta. Brookvale should be close to capacity, Cronulla v Canberra should draw 16k minimum, Cowboys always manage 20k (MNF remains to be seen), that leaves Melbourne... 11k or so IMO.

Dragon fans don't even show up at there own home games at Oki, I doubt they will show up at Telstra.

Time to move all the Dragons home games to Wollongong an give the locals a real team. Kogarah deserves zero.

That's the most astonishing thing... there was such a push for the game to return to it's heartland for Saints... and now they've got it back it's almost as if they don't want it.

last year at Dogs v Dragons @ Telstra there were plenty of Dragons fans there. Same goes for 2005.

In fairness to the Dragons fans when the first moved back, didn't they sell out Oki the first 6 games that were there?

And slowly but surely, the lack of fans through the gate will make the ground unprofitable to hire for Saints.

True
I guess it is looking through those rose-tinted glasses at how "great" Kogarah oval is.
Then when they get there they realise that sitting or standing on a pile of dirt isn't that great after all

Kogarah? The ground that costs us very little to hire because the the St. George Leagues Club is the long-term lessee?

Yes, recent crowds have been crap (9,011 was the lowest official crowd at either WIN or Kogarah since Rd 14 2002) but it's a couple of rounds too early to start the panic. Two dodgy crowds do not a trend make and its worth noting that so far (again I stress these figures are useless because they're based on such a low sample) that the average at Kogarah so far is actually higher than that at Wollongong).
