*Rotating bench

i tend to think if we end up retaining steve turner, matty geyer might be the unlucky one who misses out

That's assuming Wing leaves and hoping Doyle is re-signed

Good team but I'd have Myles starting, Nutley on the bench maybe. Doesn't make too much difference. And I hope Wing doesn't leave, personally I'm still doubting the credibility of the rumours. Also, i know nothing about Williams and Ndaira, where are they from? any good? I'd have Mellars on the other wing rather than Williams. Actually we have a surplus of wingers at the moment, theres Monaghan as well.

Williams is from Parramatta and sh*ts on Mellars from a massive height. Big, strong and fast....a bit of a poor mans Eric Grothe to some. Fortunately his defensive reads are better than the Guru. Wish he'd stayed at Parra.

Yeah he was great at the Roosters and in the UK

Can't work out which signing was worse out of Logan and Dunemann.

Dunemann comfortably
Logan will be a decent depth player, we have a pretty awesome forward pack but several of them are prone to the odd injury, if form is alright, maybe even a regular first grader

Dunemann is IMO, one of the worst signings my club has ever made that i remember...

By some, i had reservations but not to this extent
facts are in his day Jason Smith was a walk up start to origin and played several tests for Australia... No one ever doubted his class, but rather his longevity over a season

Whilst Smith was playing Rep footy, Dunemann was struggling to crack it for a First Grade spot at Souths and the Cowboys, at a time when both were woeful football teams

17. That rake were supposedly buying from Souths

Though knowing Roper, he'd select 3 backs on the bench...

That looks like the best team we can put on the feild. I'd play a back in the 17. and use Kingston for 80 min. :D

I am very concerned about Jason Smith being fit for the whole season. If by miracle he is, we can have a Jason Smith/Thurston halves combination. I just don't want us relying too much of Smith, considering he is just a stop gap solution. I still hold a bit of hope for Firman.. he didn't get much of an opportunity this year.

We're really lean in the backs though.... it's a real concern..

We've also signed Jackson Nicolau from the Storm... looks like a good young prospect, but from what I've seen of him in the QLD Cup games (which have been televised) I'm not sure if he's ready for the NRL.

He's a very, very classy 5/8th mate. I was gutted to hear that he left us, but with Thurstan in the halves next year (or whenever Smith retires), you'll have a very, very good combo going on there ...

Why? Hayne is a natural fullback, he has played there all through juniors. Hope he is there at some point next season, he offers more than Burt IMO.

The one thing I like about the Bulldogs is that they're not a "one man" team. I think they've done well to keep the group of players they have and offload the rubbish (Anasta). Melbourne are the same and I'd like to think the Raiders are heading down the same path.
