2008 Finals

I can't wait for the finals to start next week, even though my side is not there, I still think this is the most open finals series we will see for a while. You've got some dream matches coming up (Dragons vs Storm is one I can't wait for), and I reckon anyone except the Warriors has a side capable of taking out the title. It's not like past years when we've had 2 teams dominate the season, squash everyone in the semis then meet in a grand final, It's much more open. How does everyone else think this finals series will compare to recent ones.

Manly - 1 or 2
Melbourne - 1 or 2 or 3
Cronulla - 2 or 3
Canberra - 6 or 7 or 8 or 9

personally i hope it ends like this:

roosters v broncos
sharks v raiders
sea eagles v dragons
storm v warriors

the reason is i can see the dragons beating the eagles and the warriors beating the storm however cant see the dragons beating the storm or warriors the eagles.

also the flair of the raiders v the grit of the sharks would be a great match up. for the first time in the mcintyre system i dont think any of the finals would be a foregone conclusion.

After what happened earlier in the year I want to see Storm (2) V Dragons (7). Not a fan of either team but I think that one would be brutal and great to watch.

I think to beat Melbourne or Manly you need to have all your key players in the side. I don't believe they can beat whoever they come up against next week without McKinnon, especially given their away record.

I think to beat Melbourne or Manly you need to have all your key players in the side. I don't believe they can beat whoever they come up against next week without McKinnon, especially given their away record.

we have more show beating the storm with Hohaia at #1 than that over rated tantrum thrower, mckinnon.

with the possible exception of manly, we do/have done pretty well against the top 3 teams this season.

IMO this is the likely draw in the first week after the Raiders game today.

Storm Vs Dragons - Licking my lips for this one after what we saw not so long ago between these 2
Sharks Vs Raiders
Roosters Vs Broncos

Solid first week,I think most of those teams have played each other once this year?

Also here is what happens if the Storm take 1st place tonight;

I prefer it if Sea Eagles stay up the top.

Um..... 8th has never won a finals game ..... realistically there's no reason to expect anything from the warriors.
