I don't know whether I'd be in the minority here or not, but the season is simply too long. I do my best to get most home games pending work and personal committments and as many away games as realistically possible. However with 12 home and away games each season its easy to miss a game or two here and turn up to the other 10 home games...and theres still 12 away games to consider. Throw in how much it can cost a family to go to so many games and he'd have to figure that would be one possible reason why people dont attend as frequently as we'd all like.

In the current structure of teams I'd have every team play each other once, have one bye and rotate between playing at eachother's home grounds in consective years, reducing the season from 26 rounds to 17. That way with a significant drop in the number of games it places a greater emphasis on attending each game and saves attendees and families money. Another discussion for another thread.

Dragons v Bulldogs @ Win Stadium - 18k
Rabbitohs v Titans @ ANZ - 14k
Warriors v Sharks @ Mt Smart - 12k
Knights v Storm @ EAS - 16k
Cowboys v Panthers @ DFS - 17k
Eels v Sea Eagles @ Parra - 16k
Roosters v Tigers @ SFS - 24k
Raiders v Broncos @ Canberra - 11k

I think his point is that the first game against the Saints should have been at ANZ. I agree. Others do not.

In my view, Parramatta should consider putting other block busters there. Happy for others to disagree if they wish.
I believe you should keep your members happy! and to do that you MUST keep the games at your home ground, i know alot of members including myself that get the sh*ts when we play at ANZ, i think all games should be at home and they should only move it when the stadium is full of members then i can understand, and saying that i still dont think they should move it that should just upgrade the stadium.

Television money says "hello".
Honestly, you are reducing the season significantly (by about a third). How do you think that will affect the amount that bidding stations would be willing to pay per year?

How about scheduling all games at Parramatta with an option to move two of the biggest games to ANZ. I remember last year Eels-Bulldogs drew 18,000 to ANZ, while Eels-Souths drew just 10,000. The Bulldogs game especially would have been a much better atmosphere at Parramatta, we might not have been smashed 48-18 either.

This way we can move the big games to ANZ (say Dragons Round 1, and Tigers whenever), I'm sure Hindy would rather break the record at Parramatta than ANZ as well.

Ok hypocrite, but this time last week you were the one swearing that they'd get a massive crowd, and bagging the club for not moving it. Who was wrong - you or Osbourne ffs?

hold on.

you're keeping track of what people say and when in the back of your mind?

Surely Each round either one of Dragons or Dogs and to a lesser extent Eels or Tigers would be playing another sydney team and would be great to see them at Aussie Stadium with 30k there or even a double Header with 50k there at ANZ

Make it a weekly event and when a blockbuster falls on that week make it a double header

Kogarah has been home to the Dragons since 1950. They moved to the SCG for 86 and 87, and then Belmore for 88. Returned to Kogarah in 89 but then moved again to the SFS in 2000 beore the R2K movement got them back in 2003 with upgrades to the stadium ever since.

Have to remember though that in the glory days the match of the round was traditionally held at the SCG.

If what we're reading is to be correct, the next NRL TV rights deal is to be sold in different packages, such as splitting the NRL regular season with State of Origin. Even if that meant that the regular season was purchased at a reduced price initally, other packages currently undervalued such as State of Origin and/or test matches could pick up the slack. I realise that may be more wishful thinking than actual reality but I'd like to think our prices shouldn't be driven down by quantity, rather provide steady growth through quality.

Also if the regular season was shortened and changed we go from the current and flawed model of season progression to; trials>regular season>finals>state of origin>tests which could also solve other issues including handicapping clubs during state or origin, player burnout and injuries, placing a great emphasis on test match football etc.

The approaching tropical cyclone Ului might have a huge effect on the crowd at Dairy Farmers on Sat night, that assuming they don't call it off.
