Time to get this show on the road, just 8 days til kickoff.

I will be putting a crowd watch stats thread into Game Day Spoilers and will keep it updated as we go through the season, this one here will be for discussion, predictions etc.

Now, let's get the ball rolling.

Some very good trial crowds to start. Ones I've been able to source so far:

Eels vs Dragons, Parramatta: 20,000
Broncos vs Cowboys, Suncorp: 48,500
Bulldogs vs Knights, ANZ: 25,600
Sharks vs Storm, Toyota: 13,200
Panthers vs Raiders, CUA: 14,100

And with the trial crowds i think NZ, Central Coast and Perth definetly helped their chances more than any Queensland bid.

Was waiting for one of these threads you know the season is so close.

Eels v Dragons @ Parramatta - 20,830 > should be a sellout with a few not turning up with tickets.

Broncos v Cowboys @ Suncorp - 44,000 > A little bit down from last year i fear.

Bulldogs v Knights @ ANZ - 17850 > It may be boosted by a large travelling group of Newcastle fans so Im thinking has the potential to crack the 20k mark.

Sharks v Storm @ Toyota - 16,000 > I think the Sharkies supporters be pumped up for this one.

Panthers v Raiders @ CUA - 16,500 > Penrith have to raise their game in terms of crowds no excuses not to turn up for this game.

Titans v Warriors @ Skilled - 14,500 > I hope im wrong but I reckon with the kick off time this could be the only real disappointing crowd of the weekend, once again I hope im wrong.

Rabbitohs v Roosters @ ANZ - 31,000 > Should get over 30k the only worry for me is how many Easts supporters make the trip over, if not many could get around the 26k mark which is sad but also a good reflection of how far we have come to be disapointed with a crowd of 26k.

Tigers v Sea Eagles @ SFS - 22,000 > I think this will surprise a few people with Lote back and the Tigers expecting a big year, I think a big walk up crowd can be expected even it being on a monday night.

Fri and Sun low chance of rain, Saturday high chance of rain.

http://www.weatherzone.com.au/long-range-forecast/28-day-rain/nsw/sydney

Let's hope they're wrong! The weather last year for the Bulldogs V Manly game was a shocker! We still got almost 20,000 (It was the game El Masri broke the record)... Everyone got drenched!

Eels v Dragons @ Parramatta - 20,000
Broncos v Cowboys @ Suncorp - 48,000 (In the paper today they said 34,000 have been sold already)
Bulldogs v Knights @ ANZ - 20,000
Sharks v Storm @ Toyota - 14,000
Panthers v Raiders @ CUA - 15,500
Titans v Warriors @ Skilled - 19,500
Rabbitohs v Roosters @ ANZ - 24,800
Tigers v Sea Eagles @ SFS - 19,500

Total - 181,300
Average - 22,662 (Based on fine weather for all games).

Eels vs Dragons, Parramatta: 20,500- To much hype to be anything less than 20k
Broncos vs Cowboys, Suncorp: 45,000- i dont think either side will be up to much this year but regular fixture so people may go out of habit anyway?
Bulldogs vs Knights, ANZ: 21,600- clear night should see this break 20k easily
Sharks vs Storm, Toyota: 15,000- weather permitting
Panthers vs Raiders, CUA: 12,700- just cant see it being any bigger
Titans vs Warriors, Skilled: 16,400- some disappointing crowds in early rounds last season, and i suspect same again this time round
Rabbitohs vs Roosters, ANZ: 30,800- sunday footy, foundation rivalry, no excuse for under 30k
Tigers vs Sea Eagles, SFS: 20,300- Lote factor

av = 22,788

it is a pity the eels v dragons wasnt moved, it would likely have moved the average close to 25k. despite this im going to stick my head in the block and say the league will average over 17k this year

PEels vs Dragons, Parramatta: 20, 000
Broncos vs Cowboys, Suncorp: 49, 000
Bulldogs vs Knights, ANZ: 22, 000
Sharks vs Storm, Toyota: 16, 000
Panthers vs Raiders, CUA: 16, 000
Titans vs Warriors, Skilled: 22, 000
Rabbitohs vs Roosters, ANZ: 30, 000
Tigers vs Sea Eagles, SFS: 22, 000

Avg = 24,625 would mean biggest opening weekend in the comp ever.. IMO anything less is a disgrace, Rugby league fans need too support their teams this season. Lets make sure this year all teams Averages are up,
Im predicting
Broncos 35k
Bulldogs 23k
Canberra 12.5k
Cronulla 12.k
Gold Coast 21k
Manly 14k
Melbourne 23k is the tricky one but im going to say 23k because of the new stadium
New Zealand 18k
Newcastle 18k
North Queensland 20k
Parramatta 17k
Penrith 15k
Souths 18k
St George 17k
Roosters 15k
Wests Tigers 18k

AVG= 18.5 k

There should be no reason teams cant achieve this, the hype around this season imo is superb and fans should be flocking too games this year

Rain is going to the big issue.

Last years conditions at Shark Park round 1 were the worst I have seen viewing Television wise. It was sheeting, there was lightning. Wind blowing a gale and freezing cold.

Come on mother nature! Do us a favour!!

Would love to see record round one crowds.
