2010 Dally M Awards thread

Let's face it, the Dally M player of the year award is flawed from the start. The points system is totally ridiculous.

You could have the perfect game of football, where everyone has a blinder. The media give their 3-2-1 decision at the end and 31 players get nothing.

Then you could have those games that are woeful, park footy stuff. Still, the media give their 3-2-1 decision when nobody really deserves anything.

The simple solution is to give every player in every game a score, let's say out of 10. If everyone deserves 10, give it to them. If everyone deserves 0, so be it. At the end of the year, just add up the scores. Highest score wins. Simple!

Exactly. It isn't hard.

After the farce last year, last nights were much better but there were still some questionable winners.

Regardless, who cares really?

This, even if you don't agree the winners were the best in their positions, they all had great seasons. I didn't agree with all of them, but found pretty much all the results satisfying

Yeah but it's a lot harder to score points in them, especially for NSW players ;-)

True, most of them have a lack of skill.

Some of you are so stupid it hurts.

Carney's 2 points in a losing game against the sharks are not different to the last 2 Farrah scored in a losing game against the Titans. If you had of watched the game you would have seen just how good Carney was, with one highlight being 2 40/20s in the space of like 10 minutes.

Sucks for Robbie BUT suck it up. Onya Toddy!

Carney also got a point against the dragons.

Now I watched that game twice and analysed the stats, and there were at least 7 dragons players who were better than Carney was. How did he get a point in a game where the dragons (even when behind) never looked like losing.

Who was the man on fox saturday a few weeks ago who said Carney could win.

Someone suggested that was impossible he couldnt even win a position award because he played fullback and 5/8.
