you can also add 3 highest attended non final sydney games included the dragons.
also the 2 largest crowds of the year prelim final and grand final.
also the 2nd largest crowd this year vs the broncos.

also the dogs biggest home game attendance was against the dragons.

You mean the dragons biggest home game attendance was against the dogs?

dragons average crowd last season 20527
dogs 18944

want me to keep going?

You guys are utterly remarkable. He quotes a figure suggesting your home crowds are an embarrassment of remarkable standards and you quote the turn outs of other clubs' fans as your own? Can you honestly not see how preposterous this is?

I can't think of any other club who'd be that desperate, even if they were attempting to set a 2000's home final low record.

The thing is though the Dragons are not going to be able to have a larger home average than the dogs any time soon - no matter how many members they have. Their big drawing home games against the Eels, dogs, tigers etc are always going to be capped at around 18K due to the size of their stadium.
The only way this is going to change is to keep upgrading Kogarah and Wollongong - which is happening... slowly.

But they can;t even sell out games at their home grounds with low capacities now. What is a larger stadium going to do? Case in point when they played at ANZ, their average was even lower!

Of course it was lower! ANZ isn't, and never will be their home ground. The SFS or ANZ won't work for the dragons or their fans. It has to be Kogarah/Wollongong.

Put it this way, if Kogarah had a capacity of 30 000, the Dragons would easily average 23K+.

A Leagues Club membership costs $10 per annum and gets you cheap alcohol / food. Also many members don't use the facilities, they're forced to join if they go there once and live within a 5km radius.

Exactly. I am a member of West's Leagues in C/Town, only because we go there occasionally. I don't want anything to do with the Western Suburbs side of the merger, which is why i play in Group 6.

Let's see if that can translate into a crowd over 16,000 for a final game next year, if you guys make it, that is.

We just won the Premiership. Your club was utterly pathetic.

Also it appears that your having a hard time accepting the Dragons will have more members than the Bulldogs. I'm not sure why this is a huge issue to you, I mean we had more members last year anyway. You can bang on all you like about the crowd at Kogarah for the QF (which was bad) and the average home crowds for the Dragons but, how about mentioning we held that highest average attendance for away games? No of course not I forgot your an idiot.

In regards to TV ratings, I don't have them in front of me but from memory the only two clubs that exceeded ours were Brisbane and Parramatta. I can live with that.

The WORLD RECORD crowd in the 1999 Grand Final with St George Illawarra being the only sydney team in it will probably never be broken by another Sydney club especially in our lifetime.
No Dogs crowd at ANZ no matter how high it is will top that attendance at that ground. Dumbdgs will never ever be able to make a valid case against it, no matter what ratings crap he pulls out of the air. With pay TV & so many other forms of electronic media out there today competing with FTA, makes it even harder to make a case with solid consistent figures to back it up.

Hmm try again. Your memory seems to be failing you. Brisbane may have rated higher, if you combine Brisbane's ratings + Sydney's, but both Parramatta and the Bulldogs out-rated you guys on FTA this year. You were also out-rated on pay by Parramatta, the Bulldogs AND the Tigers (might have been more I just calculated averages for the big 4 Sydney teams).

I don't really care that you guys have more members, it obviously isn't translating into crowds, with the following teams out drawing you this year in order:

Brisbane
Bulldogs
Tigers
Titans
Rabbits
Parramatta

As for away crowds, it helps when you're at the bottom of the barrel in Sydney's big 4, with those teams propping you up.

Dogs rate higher than the Dragon's on Pay TV. So does Parramatta and the Tigers, to name a few. Dogs rate higher on free to air tv. Dogs have a higher crowd average. Also I read a while ago that the Bulldogs had the number 1 selling jersey in the country, but it changed year to years with the Tigers.

One can only hope you are a season ticket holder yourself, and have been for some time with the amount of garbage you go on with about our club and it's fans.

If we are so pathetic, why are we smashing every other Sydney club in terms of Season ticket memberships for the 2011 season?

It hurts you that we won the comp doesn't it?
Get over it.
Dragons 2010 Premiers. Thanks for coming.

Now doubting you guys are premiers. We had a sh*t year. Members don't mean much when you're number 5 in Sydney in terms of crowds. What's the point of them?

Dogs > Dragons FTA TV
Dogs > Dragons PAY TV
Dogs > Dragons Crowd average

plus like I said i read that the dogs out sell any other NRL team in merch by like 20%. This was a few years ago, though.

According to your website you have 10,197 members (including non ticketed). Bunnies are over 8,000 ticketed members so you're not quite "smashing" all the Sydney teams.

How about guaranteed income before the season kicks off for one.
Keeps the income stream flowing in for the club before any possible gate takings.
Is that just 1 good enough reason for you?

The games you mentioned for the Dogs last season, their highest rating home crowd games and the away game against the Broncos, half if not more than that would have been away team supporters. Hardly anything for you to go bagging other clubs over.

And as I said before, I really hope you are a season ticket holder yourself given the amount of garbage you are dishing out.

Compared to where things were last year, we are smashing all other clubs.
This time last year, Souths were ahead.
I think you'll find the majority of those 10,197 are ticketed members.
Saints membership numbers (ticketed) are going to set a new record in 2011 for all Sydney clubs to try and achieve in years to come.

Plus you guys were minor premiers 2 years in a row and still couldn't beat bottom of the table Bulldogs and Eels, let alone the basket case that is the Rabbitohs.

Dragons - 5th in Sydney!
