LOL @ Broncos being 2nd favs

How is a centre(Greg Inglis) going to help win you a grand final? Inglis touches the ball 4-5 times a game in NRL matches and doesn't come into the middle of the park looking for work,LOL @ Broncos being 2nd favs because of Inglis and that cat Hannant.

Broncos are still all about Lockyer,if he gets injured again they are stuffed.
Its not so much because GI and Hannant are going there next year. I still think the Broncos were gonna go close to winning it this year if they made the 8. Those young guys will be a lot better next year. Also Hannant will play alot better at the Broncos then how he played this year.

Tolman is replacing Hannant, though at this stage he's not as good. Pritchard is one of those players who could turn out to be the buy of the season, but also could end up being the dud buy of the season. Hodgo and KK are still learning but at least there's depth in the halves for you. I don't think the Dogs roster for next year is any better than this years, yet at the same time their '10 roster was basically the same as last year but the players didn't perform so there's no reason as to why the Dogs cannot have a successful 2011.
Also Luke Patten is gonna be a huge loss for the Dogs.

To be fair Brisbane were missing a heap of players at the back end and still managed to be somewhat competitive.

They welcome back Lockyer and Hodges, and add Inglis and Hannant. Not forgetting Wallace, Thaiday and Parker are all still there and their youngsters will be better for the experience this year.

They're worthy of the price they're commanding at the moment, absolutely.

the tigers came third whilst missing the best winger in world and a bloke that we've won 9 from 9 when he plays halfback. we arent losing a single bloke for next year and have guys like fifita and dwyer only getting better.

how we are 10th is beyond me...

I would actually. Inu is the biggest waste of talent in the NRL. He doesn't even look interested out there and makes mistakes a first grade player just should not make. Mateo is great on his day, but he costs more games than he wins due to continual brain explosion offloads every time he gets the ball.

Have to agree with Eels Dude, and this coming from a Parramatta fan should tell you everything.
Mateo and Inu, at their best, are two of the most dangerous players in the NRL, nearly bar none.
However, they are a HUGE gamble for what the Warriors are paying them. IMO it was a silly decision to pay so much for Mateo, because unless you really get him to work for something (like a contract) you will never get the best out of him.

There is an 80% chance both Inu and Mateo will be as inconsistent and dis-interested at the Warriors as they were this year for the Eels, it is a massive gamble to bet your success on those two players.
If you guys can however get the best out of them, they will take you to a grand final, and as such, because I love both the boys, I hope they do well for you and your club :) (I have a soft spot for the Warriors). You and me, plus every Warriors fan, hope the gamble pays off.

All that said, I think the Eels being third last is an omen......whenever they are favourites for a title, they under-perform dramatically and generally fail to make the eight (like this year); when no one expects them to go anywhere, they tend to end up being dark-horses in the finals...something I hate about being an Eels fan to be honest :?

I think the Bulldogs, Melbourne, Brisbane etc are all deserved. I think the Titans should be a lot higher.....
Then again, you guys have to remember this will fluctuate as teams announce signings and the teams in the finals have success. If for example the Panthers win this year, they will be higher in the betting, etc.

It would be due to the fact the Tigers, despite winning in '05, have been the most inconsistent side in the competion for the past 10 years... that's not a knock on your club... it's just a simple fact that clubs that consistently miss the semi finals are not going to be rated as premiership favourites in such a close competition.

Mate you could be talking about the Warriors, talked up before 2004 season we flop, same before 2009 we flop (admittedly I think you can put a lot of this down to the tragedy of Sonny Fai).

Personally I think Mateo and Inu will go ok with us, Cleary has a pretty record with players, Manu for instance.

Hurting a bit at the moment, hopefully at least 2 out of Dragons, Panthers and Titans can win and give us a second chance next weekend.

Can't see how the Raiders are so poorly rated. They've strengthened their squad and will have another season and at least 1 finals game under their belt, I'd expect top 4 from that squad.
Brisbane I'd put around 5/6 and Melbourne with their new look roster I think will struggle to make the 8.

Raiders and Cowboys are decent value IMO

Raiders haven't been premiership contenders for 15 years, that's why they're rated so low. Eevery second year they sneak into the finals, but that's about all they've done so betting agencies aren't going to rate them. Cowboys, they are the most underperforming club in the NRL over the past 5 years... One finals appearance in that timeframe is pathetic and all their supporters will aknowledge that. They certainly do not deserve to be rated.

Even as a Raiders fan I agree with this. We're on a good run right now but next year is a different story. Our away record over the last decade is dismal and our young fellas have to face up to possible second season syndrome. At least we won't be favourites for the spoon next year ???

Not only that, after every year we have looked good, we've done absolutely f**k all the year after, more often than not finishing in the bottom half of the bottom half.

That said, if we do manage to make a run deep into the finals I'd expect those odds to shorten a bit.

I wonder what the raiders are going to pay to make the 8?

With those odds it's probably going to be any easy doubling of your money
