Smith is a loss for us.
Costigan he can be replaced with our starting prop which we lost for the season - Hunt
Saffy was a solid bench player. Not a loss of any significance IMO. TBH should be easily replaced.

I'll back benny's judgement to have someone to replace Smith, afterall he didn't play much in 2010, really only hit form in the last 4 weeks.

No suprises with the Lizards as favorites but I expect that to lengthen by mid season. It's just the nature of the beast with NRL betting. Reigning premier gets favoritism but in the final wash up they die in the arse. Anyone got the wooden spoon odds? I might put a hundy on Saints just for a goof.

Melbourne at third favorites at eights bucks? I like the bookies confidence in my lads in purple. Might get that Saints Vs Storm epic decider after all! :D

roosters are too short should be 20/1
no carney no win

eels
No hayne no win

tigers
No marshall no win

Tigers at this point are probably 65 % one man attack , but in their favour as always is sheens game plans

One man attack teams just wont win it , they are predictable in attack

Uhh...Robbie Farah? And I'm pretty sure the Dragons are a one man attacking team - Jamie Soward.

soward been quiet majority of the year,

yes he is attack but there are other alternatives
plus the dragons have other attackers, boyd, fein, hornby, show they can win without relying solely on soward etc

The tigers showed this year marshall was the key when he was quiet or not there the tigers werent going to put the points on

i think the tigers will have more alternatives next year thats why i rate them 65% reliance on marshall,

I agree but i take out Jamie Soward and replace him with Brett Morris , If Brett got injured i think the Dragons attack will suffer immensley although i also think Gasnier will be a lot better next year

In the early days of betting a "wooden spooner" would have been quoted at 1000-1 to win the competition.

The listed odds are indicitive that no one has a clue and that ANY team is capable of winning the comp.

The plight of a team can also take a dramatic turn for the worse with off field incidents.

I remember back in the 80's when Wests were quoted as 500-1 to win the premiership.

TAB Sportsbet makes South Sydney second favourites for 2011 NRL premiership after Greg Inglis signsl with Rabbitohs

SUPERSTAR Greg Inglis has officially agreed to terms and signed a three-year NRL contract with the South Sydney Rabbitohs.

Once the news broke TAB Sportsbet was quick to slashed the price of South Sydney into $7 for the 2011 NRL Premiership.

The $7 quote is the shortest pre-season price for the Bunnies in the history of TAB Sportsbet.

The Rabbitohs are now in the rarified air of second in the betting behind 2010 premiers St George Illawarra - just ahead of the Roosters ($8) and Storm ($9).

The Brisbane Broncos, at $9 before Inglis turned his back on the deal they offered him, are now out to $13.

In a statement just released by the club Rabbitohs CEO Shane Richardson said he is delighted that the Bunnies have secured the services of Inglis for the next three years.

“Greg is one of the game’s best players and to have him coming to our Club is something that our members and corporate partners should be very excited about,” Richardson said.

“We’re looking forward to having Greg as part of our club for the next three seasons and we welcome him to the Rabbitohs family.”

Inglis is equally pleased to have signed on the dotted line with the Rabbitohs.

“I’m really happy to be joining the South Sydney Rabbitohs,” Inglis said.

“The past few months have been like a rollercoaster ride but now I can look forward to getting back into training and preparing for the new season.

“This is an exciting time and I’m looking forward to pulling on the red and green jersey for the first time next year.”

Inglis's manager Allan Gainey told The Daily Telegraph online: "Greg will be at training for his first session with the Rabbitohs on Monday morning.''

Souths won't win unless they get rid of the turnstyle the have at halfback. You could have Billy Slater and Inglis, you are still going to be crap with Sandow there!

Souths odds drastically shorter now, you know why? Because they don't want you putting money on Souths because they'll go broke if we all do.

P.S. What odds is centrebet giving that Fien and Fein are the same person?
