2011 QLD Team

I don't know every player's injury/form situation, or when some of these guys are due back (obviously a lot of these guys shouldn't be Origin centres even under a worse injury toll), but these are the eligible players who have played centre in 1st grade and/or are reasonably able to play centre/winger if Hodges & Inglis are out. At least all the ones I can say for sure.

These are the 'options' should both first choices be injured. excluding Willie, 9 of these guys have played origin before. 3 of them have played centre in Origin. 2 have played centre for Australia, but are also injured?

I believe Berrigan is out for an extended period as well. As a former Test centre he would have been the obvious choice alongside Tonga (if Inglis and Hodges are both out). Otherwise Dane Nielsen may be the front runner of that lot mentioned above.

Definitely Nielsen, this talk of Boyd to centre and Vidot on the wing is ridiculous. Dane is a solid player and wont let anyone down, cant say the same about Vidot.

I think Jack Reed may be eligible for England for some reason.. although he would probably change for a Qld jumper. Not sure where I heard that anyhow.



Would rather him to Cronk TBH.

He is eligible (grandparents or parents were born there), but he hasn't chosen anything yet, so he is eligible for Qld

It was more in reference to picking Vidot in any position. If Mal thought Boyd in the centres would work Id have no problem with it, but Neilsen would have to be on the wing.

I went Vidot because I was under the impression the selectors were going to stick solid with the squad they named.

Recent articles have lead me to believe otherwise and I'd definitely go Nielsen who's a very solid prospect.

Yeah I believe the effect comes in around June/July but who knows and really who cares? Neither competition gets the respect they deserve.

Shillington is injured and out until at least Origin 3.

Crocker had a fantastic game tonight, definitely putting his hand up.

Johnson has been struggling with injury and not quite sure he would offer enough off the bench.
