told bennett he should be playing 1st grade, so it was see you later beau, will need to work on his defence.

He must have missed out on some brain cells at birth. I'm all for trying to further your own career however, what was he thinking? Saint Benny would have forgotten more about rugby league that he knows.

I don't understand why a good young footy player wouldn't want to be coached by the best in the business. If he has the goods, he will be rewarded in time.

On a side note, aren't the Cows after Anasta for the halves.

Newcastle, wanted to play FG Saint Benny did not think he was ready Knights offered him good coin with the incentive of playing firsts so he signed with them, no biggy for mine Stanley looks the goods.

Hmmm, but Knights have Dureau, Mullen and Rogers don't they? Oh well, what does it matter, he's already chosen to go.

I think there is only one discount allowed for 10 year players, whether you have 1 or 10. Seems a bit unfair to me, but I'm pretty sure that's what it is. I'd be happy to be corrected.

Cheers, like I said the salary cap is one thing I just don't understand sometimes ...sounds about right with only one player getting the discount which is rubbish for mine, their is definetley no reward for loyality or juniors with the salary cap.

So, in answer to my own question, we all seem to agree that we SHOULD have some spare money, but nobody knows where it is going. No offence to some of the contributors, but any team that loses this many good players and doesn't replace them better have the world's best juniors or they will struggle to perform as well next year. Come on sign some players!

Saint Benny from twitter? :sarcasm:

Like others have said Soward,Prior,Weyman ect would have all recieved upgrades.

Stanley will need upgrading. No big deal. Still have a more then competitive team next year.

Dragons are planning on making a play at Josh Morris next season so we will wait and see what happens there.

How can I forget Prior. He is an awesome player. Rest my case, Saints have great bench players. Why buy another player who will undoubtly improve under Bennett then get offered big $$ to leave the club and break our hearts. Once Creagh, Young Nightingale and Morris finish their contract they will come closer to the 10 year concessions as well. Saints can possibly have 7/8 rep players where 10 -25% of their salaries are not included in the cap in 3 to 5 years time. Is'nt that how the new concessions work, for each year over 10 you get a % discount which is not included in the cap and it is not limited to 1 player?

Lets worry about this season before next season. It all comes down to the next 3 weeks. If Saints win the GF there could be a complete change in the team e.g Benny heading back up north, Boyd to follow, etc. Lets just wait and see. Can't see Benny and Boyd leaving but you never know. THey could do a Ben Hannant and play the homesick card if they win the GF?

Don't forget Gaz is only on $100,000 this year. The back loading will start next year, I imagine that's at least $350,000 taken care of.

Boyd? Maybe, but I highly doubt it. Bennett has already said the only certain thing about his future is that he'll be back coaching the Dragons in 2011 so no need to worry there.

No offence to you, but people said the same thing last year after we lost Poore, Sailor and Stanley and didn't really replace them. We didn't exactly struggle in 2010

And that was with Hunt and Tagive missing from the getgo and Smith working part-time
I think that we'll manage in '11

the only player that was going to hurt was Nevile, the guy is good.
BUT now Gaz is getting into it (remember his best is coming next year) And Scott is turning into the hit man, let's not forget he was a back rower come centre.
Tribute to the man that he can dominate in both positions.

People forget Dan Hunt who before this injury was relatively healthy.
Anyone know what decent forwards are on the open market for next year.
Costigan kind of player? I rekon Bennett could do wonders for someone like Carl Webb.

Carl Webb? I would have loved to see Ryles play under Bennett. He would have been awesome.

Saints should look for Ashton Sims. He was very promising at the Dragons and has gone off the radar. He would be dirt cheap and under Bennett would excel like he did at the Bronco's when Benny was there.

What's the latest with Lagi Setu? Another possible cheap buy for the Dragons.

Gidley and Mullen will be the halves at Newcastle. They were a much better side when they were there and I am sure that is where they will both be playing next season. Beau Henry will be playing reserve's again. Bad move by him.

I loved watching Lagi play. Bring him back.

Also really rate Francis Paul the Wrecking Ball, but I imagine he's sewn up at Easts.

Possibly the dragons will front load some contracts with the aim of signing some players in 2012. Quite a few clubs have signed big for 2011. That means they will probably be low on cash the year after. Maybe that's it.
