I think we are missing the big picture here guys. This squabble is pointless, it doesn't matter who our halfback is, we will never win with Matt Hilder in our squad. When Matt isn't a part of the team, we have a 100% win rate!

Can't believe the Dragons persisted with that nuffie Jamie Soward, when Kyle Stanley was playing five-eight they had a - you guessed it - 100% win rate.

Statistics like that are what win games. Forget about the rest of the side and what they did that day in Round 6, that is irrelevant. What does matter is Matt Hilder wasn't in the team and that is why we won. Just like how the sole reason we won a couple of games against some low-level opponents was the number on Kurt Gidleys back.

Matt Hilder only missed 2 games all year, in those 2 games we won once. What is wrong with you?

Should've read the whole thing before posting

What Gidley brings to the halfback role is that he takes on a lot of the defensive workload and he gets the team going forward by taking on the line, and he also revs up the forwards by setting a good example with his high workrate in the middle.

The forwards are always going to look better with Gidley at 7 - that's what he brings to the role - he doesn't bring much else.

It's a chicken or the egg argument.

Henry and Mullo will be interchangeable throughout the game as far as i can see it. What I mean is both can rotate between half and five eighth with ease. It will make them so much more dangerous in attack because the opposition will have to read them much closer in defence. The first and second receiver switch was perfected by the Johns boys. In fact i would say they pioneered it.

you don't think it's appropriate that our pack learns to rev itself up?

relying on our fullback to play halfback to rev up our forwards is not a good place to be. fortunately i don't think it's going to be as much of an issue next year. House and Costigan will change the attitude of our pack a lot, imo.

But Perverse...Kurt is a LOCAL. We can't let those no-nothing imports rev the team up full of local pride and spirit. That is just not on.

(I can say this because there is no chance of Roopy reading it!) ;)
