It was a very poor performance from BNRU. It's fair to say that the right centre and one of the props looked ok, but the other big prop struggled in both attack/defence. It may be a VERY lean back end of the comp for BNRU if they don't fix their D. It was very poor for most of the game.

I happened to be in the area and caught the 2nd half of this game.
Trevor may want to rethink his retirement, he saw hardly any ball, didnt do much with what he got, and was little more than a speed hump in defence.

This game was classic boys v men with most of the Kingsgrove team looking scared whenever the big Mounties forwards got the ball.

Sorry to be so blunt but it was terrible to see at this level.

Trevor saw alot of ball in the 1st half, most of the Colts attacking raids (wern't many) went through him. He took an intercept about 85 metres away from his try line and passed it to a support play straight away.

Agree with the boys v men, colts had three 1st gamers in there side, one of which plays in their 19's side.

i saw the Kingsgrove game yesterday, they had alot of their regular squad out. Their last 3 matches total 16-196 which is shocking.

Saw Burwood Mounties game today, Mounties led 32-4 after 20 minutes, Burwood got it back to 32-20 at the break. Mounties scored straight after the break but Burwood got the lead back 38-36 with 8 mins left. Mounties scored with 2 to go to win it. Mounties were very poor, they dropped alot of ball and were very ill diciplined. Burwood looked good in attack.

Burwood were the better side for 60mins and if they had of just been a little better in D in that first 20 would have won...they need to do for 80, what they did for 60. Was a great effort, though, considering they lost their 7 in the first half, and then lost their best backrower into the 2nd.

Burwood probably showed their best D all year in that 60, and their structure was very good in attack once they got good ball off the strong D. I believe they also had some new players, 1 fringe NSW Cup in the centres, they had their best prop who has apparently been injured since rnd 5 back and have picked up Beau Bovis who has been playing for Woy Woy on the central coast who was strong on the left side in the backrow.

They also had a few stronger performances from the NYC players, of which I believe there were 5, and one is their other half who was very good and had been missing for 3-4 weeks playing NYC.

Too right. There is now only 1 point between the top 5 teams.

I recall that in 2007 we had this situation for months and teams would fall 3 or 4 spots if they lost a game. Belrose led the comp for half a season and were still in the 5 until they lost in round 21 and didnt make the finals.

St Johns, like Belrose, are "eagles" and they could repeat 2007. They won the first 9 games and were 5 points clear of 2nd place. Now they have lost 3 in a row and that could continue.

I said after the game against Kingsgrove that St Johns did not have any depth and since then:

Finn and Gill have moved permanently to the Bulldogs State Cup
El Zebediah has moved to Mounties State Cup
Filiga is disappeared
Taakemoeka, Tonga & Longi are injured

and they dont have the players to bring in as replacements.

It looks like the Entrance game against Auburn was postponed.

I reckon you need at least 24 points to make the 5. It was very strange that the NSWRL website stated this week that Burwood were pushing for a top 5 spot. The most they can get is 18 which is where all the others are with 6 games left!

I can tell you first hand that Darren maroon has shoved a rocket up the teams ass. Like mentioned above they were very lucky with the late aqusations off fill finn and tonga. They have smart halves with But will struggle here on in. With teams lifting against them . And a largely inexperienced team . Peaked to early.

Yeah, not too sure where the site gets its maths from...BNRU would have to win every game and hope a few never win another game, and even then I'm not too sure they could do it

BNRU bombed another 5-6 tries. They were also missing 5 players from their last start who were either in NYC or NSW Cup...

This report is not yet posted on the cabra or NSWRL Site yet...but a summary of saturdays weekend clash..

Cabramatta Twoblues BRC moved within 1 point of the lead in the race for the 2012 BRC Minor Premiership after blockbusting flankman Francis Vaiotu bagged 4 tries to secure the Blues a hard fought 28-16 victory over competition pace makers the St John Eagles.
In a very physical, and often spiteful encounter, the game lived up to its reputation of being a top of the table clash, despite being moved ...to Cabramatta's New Era Stadium 24 hours before kick off after Begnell Oval was found to be too wet to play.
The Blues lost in former winger Louis Vaiotu prior to kick off as he earned a recall to the Newtown Jets, offering Hala Katoa an opportunity in the top grade and he didn't disapoint.
The Blues had a number of strong performers, none moreso than workaholic hooker Ben Ellis, while centre Danny Barakat and try scoring machine Francis Vaiotu also played well.
Try scorers - Francis Vaiotu (4), Jason Cook (2). Goals Hala Katoa (2)
The Blues tackle mounties in a grandfinal rematch at 5:30pm this Saturday at New Era Stadium. The match also doubles as a fundraiser for local girl Shannon Crowe who has Ependymoma cancer.
In the Sydney Shield, the Blues also came away with the folding with a solid 34-26 victory over a big St Johns Eagles team. Winger Eroni Tara crossed for a double while C Grader Ali Warwar crossed for a four pointer in his Sydney Shield debut

It doesn't get any eaisier for St Johns either they head to Ringrose Park this sunday.

The Cabra St Johns game was very physical, it was also highlighted by some poor dicipline from both sides. Three all in brawls including one after the ref had blown fulltime.

Burwood and Colts game was tight at the break 14-4. Burwood scored 2 quick tries after the break to take the lead to 24-4. Colts scored two quick tries reducing the margin to 12 and looked like they could run over the top of Burwood. It wasn't to be with Burwood crossing twice more. As slick said Burwood bombed a number of chances.

With only 2 points between the top 6 sides and 6 games to go, a lot depends on how the draw falls because the bottom 4 teams have played top 6 teams in 32 games in the first 12 rounds for 1 draw and 31 losses.

So unless there is a huge form shift the top 6 should pick up 8 points against the bottom 4 in the second half.

The number of games to be played against bottom 4 sides are:

St Johns 4
Wenty, Windsor, Entrance 3
Cabra 2
Mounties 1
