My god this thread turns up some useless crap!!!

As long as my club has sponsors putting money in and helping us to continue to grow the I'm happy. Could care less what "tier" they are in according to a fan forum.

Huawei tier 3?

If you've done some sort of degree, someone taught you wrong.

Same goes for Kaspersky, they're clearly tier 1 as well.

Shark Energy would also be Tier 1... Unless you think a Multinational company that's been around since 1965 isn't anything of value... Not to mention the Owner company Osotspa has been around for over 100 years...

Either way, it doesn't matter who the farkin sponsor is in my opinion...

I know I would prefer Bill's Take Away Shop on the jersey for x value, than Emirate who were offering to pay for half of that value.

The sponsorship has to do with the dollars it brings to the club, not who that sponsor is.

True and not, if the sponsor is good at integrating the club into their promotional and marketing activities, then sometimes you can see increased exposure of a club. In those cases, some of those "tier 1" sponsors would have a much wider reach.

As you said though, it all depends on how involved the sponsor gets with the club. Some love trumpeting that they're a proud sponsor, others are rather passive.

Don't forget Delonghi for us as well. One of the biggest home appliance makers in Europe. So we have two Tier 1 sponsors.

So much that is wrong with this post and shows you don't know what you are talking about. OAK is owned by Parmalat which is an Italian multi-national with nearly $5 billion in turnover and $300 million in profit. Meriton is Australia's largest property developer. Kaspersky is a Russian multi-national anti-virus and computer security company. Shark Energy drinks is a Thai multi-national and sells its products on every continent. As already said Hauweii is one of the worlds biggest technology companies. Can't even get the AFL ones right either because if VW is a tier 1 then so is Skoda seeing as though they are VW. And Jeep would be a tier 1 as well

Just for arguments sake, OAK would be tier 1 if you include Shark Energy as tier 1. OAK is owned by Pauls, which in turn is owned by Parmalat, a multi-national company with a 2010 revenue of $4.3b and almost 14000 employees

We could argue all day about who is a tier 1

Anyone would have to admit that steggles and shark red bull are not ASX 200 blue chip companies that portray a sense of prestige to a jersey

End of the day, rugby league sponsorship sales people at clubs lack confidence to go after the big fish

Hopefully this will change now. They won't be so desperate of cash that will take first offer on table

Are you geniused? Of course Shark Energy isn't on the ASX... It's not an Australian company... You won't find Emirates there either..

As I said earlier... Would you prefer Sharks Energy on a deal worth $5 million, or QBE insurance worth $2 million?

You are a moron, and everyone is getting dumber for having to explain reality to you.
