We did get hammered by the flu on the day of the game. Lost two important players and another couple played with it. Well done on the win but it still doesn't change anything I said in the post you quoted.

At least City, Chelsea and Spurs also dropped points. Spurs have serious issues with scoring goals.

On a positive note we're still first and our injury burden finally seems to be lifting. A single loss is no problem as long as we get back to winning at the next opportunity.
First you put the mock on Souths with your big noting posts and now it's Arsenal. Well done.

Well you said only two players from United would get into the Arsenal team. Turns out that is not quite true as the defence and holding midfield is easily better than Arsenals.

To be fair, your attacking midfielders were no better either. So much that surprisingly the only Arsenal player good enough for this United team from this game is the right back Sagna. No one else is close.

Cities new manager should be under the same scrutiny Moyes is, no away form at all.
Chelsea and Spurs are going as well as expected. Only Boxy thinks Spurs signing are good enough and Jose going back was never going to be the same as last time he was there.

I have to disagree with your overinflated view of my ability. I do not have superpowers. How confident or pessimistic I am has zero effect on how well millionaires move a ball around a field.

I wasn't judging players based on 1 game. Based on the entire season so far I'd still take nobody apart from Rooney and RVP.

Looking at the title race, I said this was the most open race in over a decade at the start of the season. Every big team has flaws. Every big team has reasons why it shouldn't win. That is why this is shaping up as such an exciting season.

We clearly need a mobile striker to compliment Giroud. Spurs need a striker, period. United needs more creativity in the midfield. I put Liverpool in that category also. Chelsea and City also have plenty of issues that explain why they keep dropping points.

It's anyones game. But right now I wouldn't swap our situation with anyone elses.

A judgement on how many players from one team would get into the other team made the day before they play leads you into using the game to base the argument. DDG, Evans, Vidic, Jones, Carick, RvP and Rooney would walk into the Arsenal team. No Arsenal player would walk into United. A few players will have a competition for there place.

Arsenal will not have any striker to compliment Giroud. You play one up front, so he would replace Giroud. So a mobile striker may add to you but you will lose the focus of your attacks. Then you back to the 50 sideways passes and no end product.

but real soccer fans have probably seen them play before

Yeah I have seen him disappear plenty of times. Hence why he is known as the magician.

That is why Madrid offered him around to anyone who could afford him over summer and replaced him with a kid.

How's that 27.5 mill you paid for Fellaini going?

Don't know. I assume it was used by Everton to pay of some of their debts.

Why?

On Fellaini, came on as sub and did what was needed of him. More than Ozil, Cazorla and Ramsey combined.

Until he settles in fully and we have worked out where he is going to be played, it is going alright at the moment.

So who exactly in the United team will keep the likes of Ozil, Ramsey and Cazorla out of the first 11 if in the same squad?

Kagawa? Fellaini? or the diving Ashley Young?

Rooney in front of Ozil no danger, and you would probably have to say Carrick in front of Ramsey.

Cazorla is a bit trickier as he plays nominally as a left winger but in the Arsenal system he is an attacking mid whereas in the United system he would be more of a winger. So for him it would not be about being outright replaced, but it would be more about fitting into a team that plays a different system.
