2013 Bundy Cup

It'll be interesting to see what impact a Wests team has on BNRU, regarding fringe WT players, as one would think they will now drop down to Wests Bundy.

Some may not want to drive to ctown for training. BNRU train about 400 metres from Wests Tigers HQ which would allow players to slip down for a ballwork session if they are playing Bundy on the weekend.

St johns will not be fielding a side. The coaching staff and the club didnt see eye to eye and the club doesn't see the value in continuing a bundy side, which is quite a shame.

The coaching staff have moved to Auburn Warriors and are trying to take a handful of johnnies players with them.

Dissappointing seeing as St Johns had such a good start to the year and had quite a handy team on paper.
So Darren Maroon etc have gone to Auburn Warriors?

Yes, geographicaly, it makes sense, but I doubt Wests would agree to a merged NSW Cup and then accept that they get no fringe players for their bundy squad. On top of that, contracted players don't get a choice where they're told to play...

Talking to the Auburn Warriors management at the end of last season would indicate the club is building towards something big in 2013. Some of the names that were mentioned would have a massive impact on the chances for a finals birth in 2013. Some big name players and big name coaching staff. Now with the St Johns blokes heading over we may see some big results from the Warriors.

Heard today that Asquith have aligned with Norths for 2013. With that and their financial strength, could be a real dark horse.

Would be a real bonus for both clubs. Give's Norths fringe players somewhere to play and Asquith players an opportunity to play a higher level of football.

This year Jack Hawkins played a few games for Asquith when not required by Norths but Asquith did not want to chop and change the A Grade so he played in the reggies and scored 44 points in one game.

How does Auburn raise funding for all their big names? No leagues club. Must have some good sponsors

Auburn RSL is the major sponsor, they also have a very good relationship with the Council and some sponsors from the Smash repair industry.

Guildford advertised last month seeking players and coaching staff for Sydney Shield in 2013 so status quo with the Owls.

The Victorian club North West Wolves have made their coaching appointments for 2013. Head coach is Tristan Brady Smith and assistant is Dallas Hood.

Preseason training commenced last night.

It's good to see so much interest in the Metro Cup for those clubs with the means to enter the competition as opposed to just annihilating all those around them. Are there any big clubs from Sydney or surrounds that should be sounded out more eagerly, like Wests Wollongong, Bathurst Penguins, etc?

so... out of curiosity, which clubs are actually been announced as playing in the Bundy Cup in 2013? There seems to be clubs joining or leaving the comp every few days. lol. And is there a cut-off date of when clubs can register for it?

Btw, is the Kingsgrove Colt club in it in 2013? I know they had a shocker of a season this year, but it would be nice to see a team from the St George area in it again.

thanks

Mounties held an invitational trial last night for NSW Cup, Bundy Cup and Sydney Shield. It looks like Eddie Flahey will coach Bundy this year replacing Troy Cassell.

Cabra & Newtown held their joint invitational trial for NSW Cup, Bundy and Sydney Shield last week.

Bathurst Penguins - that is the old name before Pathers took over isnt it?

Panthers got the spoon this year, Lithgow Workers were the top team after they recruited Taf Nicolas, Jamie Clark and Chris Saab from St Johns Bundy. Saab didnt stay long but Nicolas was man of the match in the Grand Final.

Groups of these lebanese guys move around together. A few years ago Saab, Anthony Farah and Adhan El Zbediah all travelled to Cessnock to play in the Newcastle comp and won the premiership. The next year all three went To Mounties but had to settle for 4th place.

The next year Mounties brought down Jamie Clark from another Newcastle Club Macquarie United. This time Mounties finished just short of the ultimate prize losing to Cabra in the Grand Final.

Yeah the Penguins became the Panthers when the leagues club was bought out by Penrith. I only mentioned them since I lived in Bathurst for a few years and they were the club with the $$$ in the area. Would Lithgow do well in BRC?

The year was 2007 and Cessnock didn't win the comp. Jamie Clark also joined the group from the Northern Blues as they were called then (now called Port Stephens Sharks)
