2013 Bundy Cup

Valley apparently trying to enter Sydney Shield. They have lost Dylan Montgomery to Asquith and Mick Vella is concentrating on working. So losing both front rowers will make it hard for them. But they have several players that could play Bundy cup level.
Narraweena players are angry at board for not receiving all money for 2012 season.
Manly Cove who knows. With Hoppa in the picture anything could happens.
Narrabeen losing both Pethybridges (young and old) so will find it hard to retain players.
Willoughby. Can't see them getting players to compete.

The Manly Junior Rugby League are trying to say that the comp is alive and well and will be a better standard than last year.

http://manly-daily.whereilive.com.au/sport/story/a-grade-returns-for-big-season/

I highly doubt that with the loss of Belrose and Asquith, as well as a lot of other players leaving the competition to go to other clubs that it will be better. Willoughby although went through undefeated would not come close to any A grade side, they are light years apart in standard.

As far as anly Cove goes, Im not sure whether Hoppa will be involved as he is coaching Manly's SG Ball side and I heard he wouldnt do A Grade again unless they got some money to attract players.

Speaks volumes that they even put a story in the paper about it.

Maybe it is Ourimbah. The club will need group and CRL approval or NSWRL boundaries commitee approval.

I recall some reports about Ourimbah being unhappy with Central Coast RL and talking about leaving the comp so maybe the Group management would let them go.

If they keep 2012 squad they would have about 6 players of Bundy standard so they would be a good addition to the Manly comp.

The 4 Central Coast clubs entered Jim Beam Cup in 2003 but acouple years before that there was a serious proposal to merge Manly and Central Coast comps to form a Super League but it never got of the ground and then the NSWRL capitalised on the CC interest to grab those 4 clubs. Wyong declined and went to Newcastle.

Wests Magpies have announced their first 2 signings - Sam Aiga (Cabra) and Dean Rysko (Wenty). Rysko played several years in the Wests State Cup side before moving to Wenty last season.

They have also retained 2 East Campbelltown boys from their 2012 State Cup squad - Amanono Tovio and Tom Morrison.

Leo Epifania is the coach.

Teams would likely be:
Valley
Narrabeen
Manly Cove
Belrose (2nds team)
Berowra
Willoughby
Avalon
Asquith (Maybe, I heard they werent in the comp at all)
and 2 possible Central coast teams.
As far as I know the Pethybridge connection at Narrabeen is gone and more than likely so will some of the players, not sure if they will have the same money as last year. Valley have lost their coach and at least 2 front rowers and their 5/8 Hayden Stevens let alone a few more that may be looking at other clubs that I know of. Manly Cove wont have Hoppa who drew in a few players, due to him coaching (Assistant) Manly SG Ball. And alot of the other clubs are fielding watered down sides from previous years....the comp is in trouble as far as standard goes, it will be a glorified
A3 competition

thanks for that, at least if some of these stronger teams in the past are weaker it may make more of a competition for these other teams joining the comp. Not sure of the strength of the central coast teams if they play at all.

Some good news for Wests in their first year in RM cup...not so great news for BNRU, but that is the business of semi-pro footy.

HEAD COACH UPDATE - Wests Magpies are pleased to announce that Leo Epifania has agreed to coach Wests Magpies RM Team for 2013. As you know Leo is a former Wests Magpies and Illawarra 1st grade player. He also had a stint playing in France before coaching in the UK. Leo has enjoyed outstanding success coaching Wests Magpies NSW Cup in previous years. He made this decision after declining an offer from Wests Tigers to be part of their NSW Cup coaching group. Leo's role includes recruitment.

CONTRACTED PLAYERS - I will up date the forum on Monday night with those players we have signed for the coming season but I can announce that Dean RYSKO, Sam AIGA, Tom MORRISON and Amanono TOVIO have been contracted. Only put pen to paper with others on Thursday night.

ASSISTANT COACH/STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING COACH - I advertised with the RLCM for an assistant coach/strength and conditioning coach for this team. Resumes have to be in by 30 January 2013 with those called for interview being notified in due course. The successful applicant must have extensive coaching/strength and conditioning experience and hold at least a level 1 coaching course/strength and conditioning course and be willing to undertake the level 2 course.

WESTS TIGERS EXCESS PLAYERS/TRAINING/VOLUNTEERS - Wests Tigers have agreed to send back excess players from their NSW Cup and NYC. Our team has been training three days a week - from 5.30pm Durant Oval Warwick Farm each Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Leo also had the players at training at 8am this morning for a bit of extra work. We are lucky to have the following volunteers working with us at each training session - Dave and Valerie Mc Ewan, Bluey Schafer, Jeff Aplitt, Horrie Jowsey, Charlie Tuxford and John Harbon. They are a great help to Leo and give up many hours of their spare time.

Since Penrith Brothers dropped out of the Bundy there has been plenty of the brethren joining Mounties with ex Brothers coach, Steve Antonelli now head coach at Mounties.

The Mulga have added another 2 ex Brothers players to their list - Mitch Cahalane and Clay Priest.

I dont think asquith and Belrose will enter teams for the a grade, Asquith would be a third string side and belrose came last in reserves last year so they both wont be entering teams you wouldnt think. It wouldnt suprise me if cove dont enter a team either.

Belrose will have a side in either the A Grade or the A3 competition if they have one.

The Entrance have lost Coedi Towney to the Wyong State Cup side which also includes long term Entrance players, Grant Nelson and Matt Nelson, who spent last year with Kincumber.

Wyong have also picked up Leivaha Pulu and Kurt Foggo from Windsor.

Chase Mason has also been reported to have signed with the Bathurst Panthers and Wyong Roos for next season so will be interesting to see where he ends up.

Ricky Whitton, a former Cowra Magpies premiership winning half and Western Division representative, has been training with Guildford.
