No....its not ''now''...or in ''5 minutes"...its 9 days

Its been over a week since they said it would be in 9 days time

Their estimation has disappointed a lot of people....people wont cop too much of this sorta amateur crap, they'll walk away.

Going on the Titans Facebook comment it looks like the NRL may schedule on the road games for every club.

There are some whinge arses in here aye. Oh boo hoo the draw is going to be nine days later wahhhhh! "But I want it now and they said we will have it now" wahhh. The average fan isn't worried about when the draw is released, i agree with cleary they probably dont know and I highly doubt that a one week delay will effect those making plans for away trips next season.

Since when did satisfying the 'average fan' become then critical factor in deciding whether something can be considered a legitimate issue or not? You should study up on the Pareto principle.

You're right one week isn't going to make a huge difference but they did suggest that it would be released sometime this week and like any early adopter (for the lack of a better term) a delay is always going to met with frustration.

Wow people "walking away" from the game because a season draw is yet to be released & a few people are frustrated. How the hell do you support WT if you think people will walk away due to a bit of frustration. Based on your rationale you'd last 2 weeks with WT.

FMD, what a load of bollocks ink

Mock all you want, history has proven me right.

The Raiders finished 6th last season. By rights, we should have the 6th-highest FTA coverage, or at least be in the top half.

Lets see what happens, shall we?

And what happens when they take time and still release a draw wildly skewed to favour certain clubs? Still a good move then?

Dude, you and I both know that it will be skewed to maximise Channel 9s profits and only that. Considering the amount of dosh they have fronted up for the TV rights I think it is a price worth paying.

They could not give a shit about favouring one club or another.

lol @ basing FTA coverage on where a club fell on the ladder last season. How bloody naive are you really.

Go have a cry in the corner princess

Would be great if every club did have an 'on the road' game in a regional or international area. Kudos to the clubs that have been doing it off their own backs, but it really should be happening with every club.

with the added struggle of scheduling 20 rounds ahead of time. Previously it was only 5, and that came a full month after the draw was released.

I am sick of hearing this excuse TBH. You would think the NRL is the only sporting competition in history to have to deliver a set draw the way they are acting. Competitions like the NFL, MLB, NBA etc. can do it with more teams and thousands of games so I don’t see what the struggle is.

To put everything in perspective - the NRL released this year's draw on November 8 or 9 last year. We're now only just over a week behind that date, with the added struggle of scheduling 20 rounds ahead of time. Previously it was only 5, and that came a full month after the draw was released.

Refer to Timmah's post above for the reasons. The only people that care if it comes out this week or the next are the diehards who are desperate for Rugby League news in the off-season and spend time on these sites to find it. I doubt people will walk away from the game over the draw and like it was noted earlier I also doubt this will get in the way of people making plans to travel to away games.

And what happens when they take time and still release a draw wildly skewed to favour certain clubs? Still a good move then?

There will obviously be falls in any draw of this nature. I can guarantee by waiting a extra week there will less falls then releasing it this week. I'm sure everyone will complain about it regardless and therefore we will have a quality draw as the professionals say.

The NFL doesn't give as much preference to their clubs or networks and doesn't have to deal with a State of Origin series. At least the NRL are keeping people updated, they could very well just be quiet and then all of sudden release the draw like some other big sporting competitions.

Saying nothing would be better than raising our hopes and misleading us.

How does FTA coverage bear any relation to
a draw wildly skewed to favour certain clubs
???
One relates to the amount and scheduling of television coverage, the other to a favourable competitive advantage surely.

I don't see the relationship.

Even the oft cited competitive advantage gained by having regular Friday night games is a function of the television scheduling, not the draw per se.

The scheduling is built in to the draw this year, so the two are linked.
If a certain team plays 18 Friday night games during the season they are having 7 days between games for a good chunk of the year, which allows the team to get into a routine.
Favouring clubs doesn't just relate to on field results, being on FTA more increases sponsorship $ and exposure of the club.

I'm not sure why the NRL is paying big $ for the company to make the draw, when 9 have such a big say in scheduling.
