Uniteds squad is pretty dire though outside their forwards and goal keeper, Mata is also good I guess. Defence is shithouse, central midfield even worse. Whilst it's somewhat tongue in cheek the above list illustrates just how bad their transfer work and current squad has gotten. Especially without Fergie to get the most out of some dead average players.

The young players have looked good for a litle while and then stagnated badly - Cleverly, Smalling especially, Wellbeck. I think that list was harsh on Jones, who has been the victim of poor management, having never been left in a position.

Fortunately United have a pretty soft start to the season, should get some confidence with a few wins given they have Sunderland, Burnley, Leicester, QPR and West Ham in the next five.

...At least Liverpool had a decent midfield. Chelsea were weaker. Arsenal were also weaker. Just because Liverpool almost accomplished it *out of the blue* last season, it doesn't automatically make United the favourites.

They had a few other players though then, Vidic, Evra, Ferdinand, Scholes etc. And obviously Ferguson, who was pretty incredible.

The squad has clearly declined and LVG will have a big job in front of him IMO.

I'm a big fan of Mata, form hasn't been great in the last year though. I think he'll be alright.

The I guess was more because he didn't fit in either forward or keeper, he's about the only player in between of proven quality. It was poorly written on my behalf.

One was responding to Red Bear's post. The other was responding to you carrying on like a pork chop. Both your your posts were aimed at me, and said exactly the same thing. And what precisely is the truth that is supposedly hurting me? I could dig up copious posts by myself complaining about the state of our squad and our recruitment record in recent years.

The list Red Bear posted essentially said every player we've signed in the last 6 year was shit, which is simply untrue. Sort of crap I'd expect from rival fans, not one of our own (the person who wrote the list is obviously a United fan). Our recruitment and squad not being good enough <> every single player we've recruited is shit.

The whole thing is a lame attempt at trying to prove "we're the worst recruiters in the history of clubs transferring players" by trying to make each and every player look worse than he actually is. Sort of stuff I'm used to reading in Jubilee Ave, where all facts are interpreted to fit a preconceived conclusion.

I'm sick of f**king wrist-slitters, of both the Dragons and United variety.

Sorry, there's a big misunderstanding here. I thought your 'written by Liverpool' comment was aimed at my comment about di Maria, and it's just all snowballed from there.

Apologise to all the Everton fans.i thought you were plodders but that was some first half against Arsenal.Might of been lucky with an offside but thought a touch unlucky not getting a penalty(loved the comment from the commentator about the Everton guy rubbing his leg against the Arsenal defender- you're pretty good if you can do that to a guy behind you at that pace).
Still a half to go and not writing Arsenal off but they'll need to produce something special.
