I just find that Terry cops it heaps on social media for being a tool. Gerrard cops it for being slippy.

I'm sure you're much smarter than people who let social media do their thinking for them though

Lucas should have been hooked from the line up before the game. Such a puzzling move. I think BR was trying to be too cautious.

Perhaps

You got the job done though, which is the main thing

Worrying about Lucus when Johnson is on the field? Sort your priorities Nick

He's right. Everyone knows Johnson's shit and will be replaced by Moreno.

But how Lucas keeps getting a go is more infuriating. He was a statue for Clyne's goal. Bugger off to Inter please.

Word is that Tim Sherwood could be taking up the Managers Job at Crystal Palace.

I pity them if thats the case.

You have a point, but social media is good to use as a rough sample from a population.

I'm very relieved about it. I'd actually be worried if we already played one of our best games of the season

You've still got a few players up your sleeve, haven't you?

Winning with room to improve is never a bad position to be in

Johnson may be terrible, but IMO having Lucas on there was more infuriating. BR was kind of forced to play Johnson...but he wasn't forced to play Lucas.

Why start Lucas when you have Emre Can and Joe Allen? Lucas provides this team nothing, he's not the same player he was before his major injury. He provides absolutely zero going forward, and he hasn't been that great defensively either; he didn't offer much protection of the back 4, especially in the second half. Once a player gets past him, he needn't worry about him again, because I think a sloth is more mobile than Lucas. He stood there like a stunned mullet when he didn't track the Soton player who scored.

Yeah, we've got Lallana, Markovic and Moreno (to replace Johnson hopefully) still to come in. Emre Can is also yet to get a go.

We're also waiting on a quality striker, and maaaaaybe another DM like Alex Song. If we get a quality striker, we'll be good to go.

Gerrard also needs to go on a long holiday until January. And that's every season. He may as well because he's already switched off anyway.

it's a big problem with out team. Midfield doesnt track their midfield, so our defence gets sretched as they get swamped by the opposition.

Not sure Can will be the answer, hopefully, but Lucas has never been the same since he did his knee, and Gerrards strength is definitely not tracking the players in midfield.

Would much prefer Can strting though at this point.

Good to get three points. Next couple of weeks will be tough.

Ordinary start, but a nice recovery

There should be a few more in this

Started shaky both halves tbh.

Clear pen not given but a card given instead. Ref's will have a say in where the title goes IMO.
