Welbeck had he chance to put a goal on a plate for Sterling in the first half and made a meal out of his pass, was woeful.

Lucky for him Sterling duly delivered when the scenario was reversed in the second half (it was a much more difficult ball to deliver too).

I like Danny a lot. I'm not overly convinced we should have sold him.

But we would not guarantee him time upfront and he wanted to leave, so we move on.

To answer your question, no.
He has played in a league winning team and wasn't close.
A very good player outside the box, very hard working and very skilful.
Not a natural goal scorer though.

If he was, he wouldn't be playing for Arsenal now.

People said the same about Sturridge and he has done well at Liverpool.

Welbecks games to goals tally is misleading. Both for club and country his STARTS to goals ratio is very good. And that's with playing a lot out wide. He can score.

Sturridge has a better eye for goal, but he was also a very selfish player when he was with us. He butchered many more goals than he scored

Trust me on this one. I have seen him more than you and know all about where he is played.

Of course he can score, he just doesn't do it as much as he should.

RVPs signing didn't help, but he was never prolific in the youth team.

Still who knows, maybe with a run he can get going. I hope so in one sense, as I have a lot of time for him, in one sense I hope he does badly as if he does well he will help arsenal before joining city.

Tough one really.
Hopefully Falcao can hit the ground running though. Will take some pressure off.

We let Welbeck go as he is now 4th choice at United behind Rooney, Falcao, RVP and James Wilson (last years debutant who scored 2 goals)

Welbeck needs to be the main hitman at a club and then we will see what he can do. I hope he gets that at Arsenal. He could be great!!

He just needs to make sure his knee doesn't buckle when he hits the ground

A useful iPhone comparison for Man United fans

Looks like the 6 Plus is the go....

Talk was he was 5th choice behind Januzaj also as Lvg sees him as a forward.
Anything but wing back for him.

If we go 433 then there is even less time for Welbeck.

I hope he turns great near the end of his contract and comes back. But by then Wilson, Januzaj, Lingard and Perreria will be better than him so maybe not.

Phil Jones out for a month. Even if their attackers click (far from a given when you build a team on the run) they're still going to let in a lot of goals with their already threadbare defense now even thinner.

True

Depends on your point of view though, of course...

I mean I have seen some funny anti united pics, some very clever ones.

That was a sh*t advert.

You would have to have a complete lack of originality and football knowledge to even start finding it actually funny...
I thought it was f**king hilarious :lol::lol::lol:
You see what I mean Jimbo. ;-)

Rojo and Blind have joined since last week...

Blind isn't a centreback and Rojo is not top class.

Ur right. But Blind is a DM, and that has been a big problem for us so far as Fletcher was not doing a good enough job at covering the space between the defence and the midfield. Rojo may not be top class but he is a definite upgrade on Evans who has not had a good start to the season. I'm confident that a defence of Shaw-Rojo-Smalling-Rafa with Blind infront if the can do a job for us until Jones is back (asuming we go to a 433, 4231, 442 instead of the 352 which I really hope we do)

If we play 3 at the back he can play in the back line, Rojo played in the world cup final so isn't a total mug.

If we play 4 we have plenty of centre backs. Shaw is back to so there is another body for the back line.

You also don't just defend with defenders, you also defend with mids. We have blind who can play there and Carrick is coming back.

I'm sure you know all this however...

True, it was hardly among my best work

Every now and then I'm happy to settle for a chuckle
