LVG is a fraud. And nobody has been talking about how big of a flop Di Maria has been for most of the season.

Have to agree with you BM. Di Maria looked good for a few games at the start of season but has done SFA since, either through injury or general shit form. Imagine having Phil Jones and Marcus Rojo as your CB's as well, I've got more confidence in Skrtel than both them.

That Herrera bloke goes alright though doesn't he? I actually haven't watched many United games this season, but hasn't Di Maria been moved around position to position a lot?

For the money they paid for him DM should be world class anywhere on the field. As in right behind Messi and Ronaldo level.

True, maybe LVG should give DDG a rest and stick DM in between the goals next game?

:lol::lol:

ADM hasn't been andy Carroll level waste of money but he's been disappointing for me. He was brilliant for RM in the champs league final so I was keen to see him bring that sort of quality to the EPL regardless of who he plays for.

He absolutely tore it up in his first few Utd games, and then had a stunning game for Argentina against Germany. Can't pinpoint what's happened since then. He's still done a few good things, his assist last night just to name one of them, but I really haven't heard about him doing anything special since long before the Christmas period.

As for Falcao, his goals/assists return may suggest that he's not doing too bad, but when you look deeper, his general run of play is very often sloppy and disjointed, and the nature of his goals haven't really represented the cost of 350K/week wages. But it has raised a question about whether it has a lot to do with his ACL recovery...

Also, what the hell has happened to RVP?

We have a big problem with the system lvg insists on playing.

We have zero width. It is terrible.
Fellaini up top should be plan b.
Rvp has saddly gone and is not good enough anymore, same for falcao.

Di Maria needs to play wide right and bring the ball in. This will give him the space he needs to flourish.
I don't care where he played in la liga, it is a different league. You get more time me to play in Spain.

On the left Young is going well, and Januzaj has lots of potential so that is no problem. Lingard is also knocking on the door.

Herrera is a good midfielder, and blind is alright in the middle.

We could do with some defensive cover next summer.
But then we needed it last summer to. We lost 3 defenders then and replaced them with one.

I like that we give youth a chance though, we clearly need to stop spending big money on players because that policy is not working. We need to look to buy prem experienced players and some pace.

I can see Di Maria leaving tbh, he is not enjoying himself and we could get most if not all the money back on him. But he would need replacing as we would miss his threat. Personally we would have to go for bale to replace him. He would be expensive, but he is prem proven. So will be better.

In other news, Jose is cracking up and his team of cheats has been finally found out. The recovery from injuries of ivanovic and matic was an awesome display of modern medicine...

...We will happily take Di Maria :D If Falcao were offered around for, say, 12 million, I'd definitely consider it too. However rich United are, it was weird to seem them go 'galactico' in the summer window. In the main, they've always been a club about promoting youth and trusting potential, and I always respected that.

Where does Di Maria's unhappiness stem from?

You wouldn't want Falcao.
I think Woodward is trying to make himself look like the big man and be better than Gill, but he is going about it in a not very good way.
To be fair to him, on the pitch we have not had plan since SAF left. Moyes may have had one, but couldn't cope following SAF. Lvg hasn't got one, which is worrying has he has been in the job a while and it is clear what formation works best.
Until you have a plan, you cannot buy the best players to fit the team.

Di Maria unhappiness is two fold.
1. On the pitch he is finding life harder than I think he thought he will. La liga may have pretty footballers, but the prem is so much faster he doesn't have the time he is used to.
2. Off the pitch his house was robbed by armed robbers recently when his family were in. They have been in a hotel since then (I don't know if they are still there but they were there a while).

It is a early days with him though, and I would expect him to be better next year with a settled team, experience in the league and more settled at home.

Armed robbery. Yikes. I'd be locked up in a hotel too.

Has Falcao's problem been a combination of athleticism due to the ACL, an inability to be on the same wavelength as team mates, and a lack of shooting precision? That's the general vibe I'm getting

He can't run, can't control the ball, can't pass and misses chances.

He isn't helped by having to stand next to RvP, but he has been less than impressive.

Didn't he say 3 months is what he wanted to be judged on, then changed it to 3 years?

Could Moyes have offered as much if not being undermined by Ferdinand?

One thing I don't agree with about Moyes is the notion that he needed a chance to buy his own team in the summer. I have my doubts about whether the same calibre of player would have been attracted by playing under Moyes. I'd have been shocked if Di Maria left a UCL winning Madrid team to join a 7th placed United managed by Moyes, the man responsible for the most dour and horrible football seen at Old Trafford for a very long time.
