What an effort, he didn't win but what a great game to watch, pure courage and determination from him at the end.
What a bright future Australian tennis has

He put up a good fight. Should be well inside the top 100 by the end of the year.

Del Potro lost in 5 sets last night too

Well there you have it, not one male made it to round 3 - sums up the horror of this draw. The future looks bright. Not this year though. Hopefulyl Casey and/or Sam can go through today!

You can't blame the draw. To make the third round as an unseeded player you have to beat a seed in one of the first two rounds or beat a player in the second round who had a win over a seed in the first. Our players weren't good enough to do that. Sure Tomic got Nadal first up but he was injured so he wasn't going past that match no matter what and Duckworth got Federer but he isn't anywhere near good enouigh to beat any top 32 player IMO so he wasn't going to make the third round. Everyone else had a pretty good draw. Thompson, Matosevic and Hewitt all could have won their first round matches but weren't good enough to finish off higher ranked players. Ebden and Kyrgios both could have won their matches in the second round but again weren't good enough to beat their higher ranked opponents.
