2014 Draw Released - it's gonna be tough

Some will find anything to whinge about, even "Manly" fans who sign up to the forum to comment on a Tigers draw.
Not whinging Charlatan and have followed this forum for years.
Just thought I would add a comment from an outsiders point of view.

As stated previously by another poster equality is the sim of the game when it comes to a JOINT venture or they just may as well go their separate ways. I had no idea until I read this forum, that the divide within the fans of this club was so great. Glad my club stands alone and remain consistently successful.

I guess the disappointment with the treatment of the Campbelltown area is more based on my bias of growing up here and knowing not only how supporters love the game, but what the area as whole has done for the game.

Look at the local talent from the area running around in the NRL today across all clubs. The junior nursery and local school competitions have provided countless superstars AND coaches. You would think compared to what the Balmain area has to offer from a grass roots and growth perspective pails in comparison.

Already we are seeing young players lost to other clubs because the joint venture clearly cannot service the area productively. That's fine by me from an opposition supporters angle but from a person who is proud of the community in which I live I find it a shame to see them running around in other colours when all that needs to be done is as another poster said share the spoils not consume it all for ones self.

That's it for me on the tigers forum, I have learnt my lesson not to comment on things other than in my own teams forum ( God forbid ). I guess I will go hang out in the manly section where all we need to worry about is who are we gonna play in the finals for the 10th year straight next year.

Why would they play at Campbelltown? To ensure both sides of the JV get equal treatment. You quote 1 poor crowd figure as if that sealed fate for all time. I know Leichhardt had some poor crowds last year as well but could not be bothered googling figures etc because my point is BOTH sides of the JV should get EQUAL treatment and if you cant agree with that than your bias puts you into the no need to discuss this further category for me.

50/50

Its whats held us back for 15 f**ken years.

Stuff the "Oooh they get one more/better/less than we do we better square the ledger" attitude.

Its time we just did whats best for the team, whatever that may be....if some cant cop it - suck it up.

You are probably right. Time to think of the good of the club and punt Balmain because they cant pay the bills. Hope the Balmain supporters can suck it up.

Don't know why I bothered but here it is for you imbeciles. Leichhardt averaged 10544 for 2013, Campbelltown averaged 10064. Wow what a massive difference you imbeciles. Equality is needed. You imbeciles. Source - nrl.has.it

We get to the crux of things eventually

Some former Magpies want to take over the JV due to the fact Balmain cant pay the bills. I am not one of these. I support the JV, but want equality

And for the imbeciles - the worst local crowd for last year was at Leichhardt 5288 against the Storm. The 2nd worst crowd was at Leichhardt 7125 against the Cowboys. The worst season crowd at Campbelltown was 7833 against the Raiders on a wet Saturday night with half the team out on a losing streak. The point is this - BOTH teams deserve equal treatment, meaning share the day time footy, share the Sydney teams. Because looking after the interests of the team as Ink was trying to carry on about means looking after BOTH sides of the JV. The crux of the matter is there is NO JUSTIFYABLE reason to plug Leichhardt at the expense of Campbelltown as these figures show.

I don't see why we are playing at either venue. It used to make sense but now its just another reason for people to complain. Maybe 1 or 2 games per year at both grounds with Sydney teams at good times. If not all games should simply be at ANZ.

I think even the players prefer the local grounds for the atmosphere. The bigger grounds only half full have no soul

But I've shown you that the last time Campbelltown had a game during the day against a Sydney team the crowd was pathetic.

Why would the club schedule another day game there against the same team in 2014?

I am tired of the continual whining from the Cambo brigade about " it's not fair and the other side is favoured".

There were no day games at Leichardt in 2013.I don't recall people from the other side carrying on like pork chops last year and saying that the Wests side of the JV was favoured.

Personally, I don't care when the games get played at Leichhardt provided they are not Monday nights.

And I am going to go regardless of who the opponent is.

There is no doubt that there are issues around getting people to games at Campbelltown, but as shown with the crowd the last time, these don't include the opponents or time of the game.

And there is no chance that they are going to play Southe, Parra or Cantebury anywhere but ANZ ever, and St George is unlikely.

So tell me out of Manly, Roosters and Sharks, which of these is going to fill Campbelltown?

None of them are famous for the numbers of their travelling fans.

If you could get more than 9000 to a game that might be a possibility

The crowd figures actually make you look stupid - both Ctown and Leichhardt averaging in the 10,000's and the 2 lowest crowds of the year at Leichhardt...

Missing the point. Share the love at BOTH venues. Pretty simple. Like the forum members that don't get it.

Youre a fool.
Look at the '14 draw thread in NRL section....its riddled with inequities....some teams get a heap of MNF....some get all Fri.....some get no Sundays.....its an unfair comp, with broadcasters - not clubs - dictating when teams play...and you want everything exactly the same for LO-CSS...wont happen

...and what also wont happen is you accepting this.....you need to see things wore as 'we' as opposed to 'us' and 'them'....try it, its much more enjoyable

You appear to be the fool. The NRL does the draw. The Club allocates the venue for home games knowing who is being played and when. Equality or as close as possible is in the hands of the club.

Wrong.

Who: ANZ choose who we play before anything, ...in some cases opposing teams using the same ground as home are utilised in the reciprocal ticket members scheme...out of the clubs hands. Remaining games venues are allotted by the club

When: Broadcasters Nine & FOX

Carry on with your ignorance

You are a true f**ktard. The club allocates Leichhardt or Campbelltown which is what this whole debate is about.

Yep, was at both those games Storm and Cowboys. Terrible winter nights and games in torrential rain played when the season was all over.

Now lets bring up that game against Penrith Round 2 on a sunny March Sunday again...

Just keep stamping your feet and whining about how unfair it all is though. We can hopefully keep this thread at the top of the page for most of the season to showcase your ignorance.

The Canberra game was played in the rain?

Well, for about the fourth time,my point is that at least the club is going to do something different this year by trying to get the LO games to Sunday Arvo's.

We know that playing games on Sundays doesn't seem to improve the crowds at CO
