Noticed the Dragons had "NRL" on the back of their numbers while flicking channels. Could the NRL be trialling league wide numbers for on-field legibility? The number font seemed pretty similar to their custom typeface.

Again, I think they may have been trialling it for visibility reasons. From what I saw, the numbers could have been clearer. The larger serifs and double outline made them too busy.

For me, the visibility of the numbers largely comes down to whether it has an outline (or a boarder, i dont know what its really called) in a distinctly different colour. This is something NFL teams do very well....

The numbers just pop on these jerseys. Even if it is just simple (black outlining white numbers) it is by far the most effective way of making numbers visible.

storm trial jerseys (white) last night against easts looked better without the crown logo encroaching on the lightning bolts... just had @storm on the front but for some reason still in a dark box...

Sorry if this has been discussed already, but did anyone notice the singlets in the crowd during the auckland 9s tourny that kind of resembled NBA singlets. Had the team name on front and a random number underneath (47 was one I noticed). Looked pretty good. Was wondering if anyone else noticed it and if they liked it

The numbers refer to the foundation of the clubs

Manly 47, Roosters 08, Cronulla 67 etc

Yes, because the thing that made Super League terrible was seeing players names on jerseys.........

Must be why everyone hates State Of Origin as well.
