Rabbitohs Surpass 2012 Membership Total
The South Sydney Rabbitohs’ 2014 Membership campaign has hit another milestone today by reaching 22,212 Members surpassing the Club’s 2012 season Membership total of 22,154 with just under two months now until kick-off.
The Club has recorded significant increases in Membership over the preceding seasons, with more and more of the Rabbitohs faithful now choosing to ‘Stand Above the Rest’ and become Members of the Rabbitohs Family.
Rabbitohs prop Luke Burgess, along with the rest of the playing squad, was ecstatic to hear of the milestone today at training.
“It’s really impressive,” said an excited Burgess.
“To think that we’ve surpassed the total number of Members from 2012 so early makes me and the boys feel really excited about the coming season knowing that there’s going to be so much support for us every week – we love playing in front of all those passionate Members,” said Burgess.
“Obviously towards the back end of last year we got some really big numbers in terms of attendance and we’re doing that with our Membership drive as well. It’s just really impressive and I feel proud to be a part of this era at the Club.”
With 2014’s Membership target of 32,000 Members still in the future, Burgess is confident that more and more Members will jump on board and show their support in record numbers again.
“We’ve still got a long way to go, but I’m sure we’ll reach our 2014 goal,” enthused Burgess.
“Rabbitohs Members are the most passionate in the League, and if the support in the last few games from 2013 is anything to go by, there are even more supporters out there!”
Burgess’ message to fans is simple:
“Get all your mates to jump on board with the Rabbitohs in 2014 and become a part of the growing Rabbitohs Family.”

Rabbitohs Continue to Lead the Way in Membership
The South Sydney Rabbitohs are leading the way in Membership for 2014, with the Club currently enjoying the support of 23,533 Members – nearly 3000 Members more than the same time in 2013.
The Rabbitohs now find themselves a whopping 7,584 Members ahead of the second placed Brisbane Broncos.
The Penrith Panthers became the first NRL club to pass their 2013 membership numbers while NRL clubs continue to track 9% ahead of membership figures from this time last year.
The Sea Eagles, Eels and 2013 Telstra premiership winners, the Roosters continue their impressive forms tracking more than 30% ahead of their January 2013 membership numbers.
The biggest movers over the past month have been the Dragons who now sit third in the total number of overall Memberships after a late start due to the late finalisation of their home venues for 2014.
“With more than a month to go before the 2014 Telstra Premiership season kick-off on Thursday, 6 March, our club membership numbers are showing good signs of growth, which is a real positive for the upcoming season,” NRL head of Commercial Paul Kind said.
“Regardless of where many of the clubs actually finished on the 2013 premiership season ladder, the passion the fans and members have for their teams has been outstanding.”
In the coming weeks, the NRL will continue to work closely with all clubs to ensure that fans are aware of the importance and benefits of becoming a club member.

The South Sydney Rabbitohs continue to make massive strides in Membership with the Club now having broken through the 2013 Membership target of 25,000 Members ahead of the 2014 season.
The milestone comes just over two and a half weeks out from the Rabbitohs’ season kick-off against the Sydney Roosters at ANZ Stadium on March 6th 2014 where a massive crowd is expected to see the traditional rivals do battle.
A record regular season crowd of just under 60,000 Members and supporters descended on ANZ Stadium in round 26 of last year to see the two teams do battle, and while South Sydney currently lead the NRL in total Membership, we still need your support in order to reach the target of 32,000 Members for the 2014 season.
