But the difference between you and Big Jack is that he would review a players ability to play a position before throwing him there.

You are taking his quote far too literally.

Mate, you took his quote too literally when you took offence to it. Your continual ad absurdum strawmen attest to that.

I see his quote as a refutation of the idea that you shouldn't weaken one position to strengthen another.

My thinking is that almost every player has some versatility in him, and there's nothing wrong with moving a player from his preferred position if it will allow you to fit a player of one position into the team at the expense of a lesser player at a different position.

I have made clear that your best 17 players are dependent on who else is already in the team. How can you rank your entire squad from 1 to 35? What's the difference between the 17th best player and the 18th best?

Like I said, it depends on who else is already there. You have your core of must-picks and then you fill the rest around them. And if you have to move a bloke to a different position then that's what you do - you worry about the numbers later.

In your opinion, how many of tomorrow's team couldn't play more than one position?

We are agreeing on a number of things but we will have to 'agree to disagree' on a few others.

I agree that you shouldn't weaken one position to strengthen another. I also acknowledge that some players can play multiple positions if required.

Where I think we are not agreeing is the notion that moving players around to different positions is 'worrying about the numbers on their back later'. I am saying that the process of moving players to different positions is 'worrying about the numbers on their back now'. If a coach is not confident that a player can play a new position then they will not be picked. They are not going to chose their best 17 and then find that they have two fullbacks and now have a sub-optimal solution in the centres.

I guess you would say that the fullback not chosen was left out because he wasn't part of the best 17. Whereas I am saying that the coach weighed up whether a player could play in different positions and chose to leave out that particular fullback.

I think Hock is due back from suspension this week, however Wigan are playing Widnes and the terms of Hock's "loan" to Widnes means that he can't play this game.

Gronk could this have consequences for us if we play Wigan in the World Club Challenge when he comes over?

Are you wondering about your Feb 2015 flights to UK ME ? If so, I'd say you can relax cos from what I hear Tim "Joey Johns" Smith will lead the Wildcats to victory in the ESL next year.

Def can't wait to see Corey in the blue and gold next year.

I just hope the club set up a 1-900-555-COREY number ala The Simpsons:

"Hi, this is Corey. I hope you and I can get married someday"
"Hi, you've reached the Corey hotline, $4.95 a minute. Here are some words that rhyme with Corey: gory, story, allegory, Montessori"

Forget a new sponsor, this is where the real money is at.

I'd ring it.
