Maybe the next step is having some form of "inter-league" play, where each NSW & Qld Cup club has just a game or two against a cross-border rival during the regular season?

Oh, and how good did the blue & orange look? If only the Titans had stuck to that as a colour-scheme after ditching the Dolphins name...

Its so depressing to see the Northern Pride jersey (a gorgeous colour combination) and think that was what the Gold Coast team ALMOST used...

That blue and orange shits all over the Titans current strip.
The one positive is that the colours they announced back in '07 (blue and gold; because its only used by like 4 other clubs) is so close to the blue and orange, that they could just slightly redo the colours as the change jersey designs without pissing off too many current fans...

Personally, if you're the Gold Coast you'd think you'd have gold in your colours somewhere.

Sure, but when we talk about jersey colours, "Gold" doesnt just refer to Yellow, its what we call Orange as well; sure, Parra are "blue and gold" (yellow), but Balmain were "Black and Gold" (orange).

For the Titans, all it would take is a slight shift in the shade of Gold they use.

The thing about "Blue and Gold/Orange" is that it would be totally unique within the NRL, and it would be perfect for a place defined by its beach culture (tell me these colours dont make you at least kind of think of a sunset over the ocean...)

The sun rises over the ocean on the Gold Coast. Just saying.

I'm wondering if either A) the NRL is doing away with grand final logos on jerseys or B) if there was an issue getting them made this year?

Both the Rabbitohs and Bulldogs had embroidery on their jerseys last night but no Telstra Premiership Grand Final Logo on their chest same as Penrith in the State Cup?

Another team that used blue & orange was the "Central Vikings" a short-lived merger of the Hawkes Bay & Manawatu rugby union teams.

I know those sew on patches can look a bit cheap, but that was pretty bog ordinary with the small essay worth of embroidery on the front.
Penrith had the normal Telstra Premiership logo, it wasn't a special grand final logo.
I was surpised by this, as they used the NRL teams jerseys instead of the NSW Cup team jerseys. Northern Pride used the State Championship logo instead of the QRL one.

While thinking about this, how great would it be to have the PNG Hunters win the State Championship? Over Fiji!

I should hate the Pride jersey, its very busy, but the colour combination is excellent so makes up for it

It goes all the way back to the Winfield Cup days. I've always liked the sew on patch in this instance as it is a special game it should have the Grand Final logo sewn on the teams jerseys. Most other sports have it and have for a while.

Pretty slack from the NRL this year. Especially when they are still going to sell Souths Premiership Jerseys with the logo on it.
