Anyway, enough of the trolling about if SOO is interesting or not,
are crowds going up this year or not and have the NRL done enough during the off season to address the problem, if it is a problem.

Being mature would be conceding that I showed your assertion to be completely incorrect.

Instead of just ignoring it and wanting Data that couldn't possibly exist such as amount of "casual" viewers.

Because of this I could only assume you are trolling.

You showed an article about Origin 3.

You would need to be a physic to answer that question.

The NRL have done nothing wrong, but some players and de-reg players have.

You showed an article about Origin 3.

So your assertion was meant to be qualified with "besides Origin 3"

FYI, State of Origin 1 and 2 outrated every TV show in Australia besides the AFL grand final, NRL GF and State of Origin 3.

I think the biggest problem is that the teams just aren't that great at the moment. It's a pretty average comp. The standard hasn't been high for a few years.

The Roosters have a fantastic team - they are hard to fault (unless you hate Mitchell Pearce). But all the other teams have glaring weaknesses. The Eagles have no attack up the middle and not much out left. The Rabbits are weak in the outside backs. The Dragons lack mongrel in the pack. The Dogs have very little creativity. The Knights are a bit old and a touch slow. You put 2 gun signings in any of these teams and they would be fantastic. But the player pool just isn't quite there at the moment.

A big part of the problem is that there aren't a lot of great halves around. Very few teams have both an established half and five eight. The Eagles are the exception but look at the rest - Storm (Cronk/Hampton), Rabbits (Reynolds/Keary), Tigers (Brooks/Anasta), Broncos (nothing) etc. Everywhere you look there are young blokes trying to make their marks in a very difficult position.

The playmakers haven't been there en mass and until it changes, I don't see the games living up to expectation. So people march with their feet.

On a side note, it is disgraceful having to watch the Broncos every week. Even when they were great, I didn't want to watch them every week. And they will be poor again in 2014. Why would non-QLDers want to tune in?

The real shame is that your post has many relevant and valid points, but the interweb nerds have chosen to overlook it in favour of a pissing contest.

Does no one think that the fact 2013 was the first time you could stream all NRL games live to you your iPhone and tablet would have any bearings on the ratings?

Even the fact you could watch it on Foxtel GO would make a difference to foxtel's reported ratings

Granted but what is the solution to the perceived weakness. I raised the robotic nature of the game (via coaches) and got f**king jumped on.

Remember you can't rig a comp for ratings, and; yes the Broncos every Friday night is a major issue.

Your a cool dude but everyone else is a NERD!

FYI, 2013 IMO was one of the best Grand Finals of all time. To say that it's all down to a subjective opinion about whether teams are "good" or not is an impossible discussion to have.

Not being a techno rat, what is the cost of downloading a game to an Iphone or tablet?

I have Foxtel.

Wouldn't Foxtel pick up the Foxtel GO usage?

I raise this point constantly but it clearly doesn't suit the agenda of some.

This App has over 100+ downloads on Google play. (I imagine more on I tunes) I watch the majority of my games on it.

This is a huge amount of viewers not captured by traditional media ratings.

f**k, how old are you - 10. It was ok, because the scores were close for a major part of the game (but East were error ridden in the 1st half).

It was far from a great GF, unless you are a chooks fan.

Once again, purely subjective.

Impossible to argue.

Its the chicken or the egg - is it robotic because theres not much talent. Or is there not much talent due to the robotics? Game breakers are what most clubs wish they had, problem there is, it seems to come with a "im also a f**kwit" disclaimer sticker as well.
