Well Leicester didn't slip up last night. 1-0 at home to Southampton. 7 points in front with 6 to play. They just seem to be getting enough done at the moment and don't know how to lose.

The side that really has to worry IMO is City. They have Man Utd and West Ham right up their asses, but also have a tough Euro tie against PSG to worry about. Top 4 for them is no certainty, be shocked if they miss out as I had them winning the League before a ball was even kicked.

New Chelsea boss Antonio Conte faces match-fixing suspended prison sentence
Posted about 2 hours ago

An Italian court has called for new Chelsea manager Antonio Conte to receive a six-month suspended prison sentence over match-fixing allegations.

The current Italy manager, who will take over Chelsea after Euro 2016, is accused of sporting fraud.

The 'Calcioscommesse' corruption probe says the 46-year-old former Juventus boss failed to expose an alleged rigged second division match in May 2011.

The game involved Siena, which Conte managed at that time.

Conte, who denies any wrongdoing, was also ordered to pay an 8,000 euros ($12,083) fine, by Italian public prosecutor Roberto Di Martino.

The May 29 2011 game suspected of being fixed for betting purposes ended with a 1-0 away win for Conte's side at AlbinoLeffe.

Conte is one of around 100 suspects in the sprawling Calcioscommesse inquiry who are awaiting judgement.

In 2012, when he was in charge of Juventus, Conte was hit with a 10-month ban from football by the Italian football federation over the affair, reduced to four months suspended on appeal.

The new man at Stamford Bridge is due to hear his fate on whether he is hit with a criminal sentence in mid-May.

Conte's lawyers elected for a fast-track conclusion to his case in order to get it wrapped up before the European championships begin in France on June 10.

Tuesday's development comes less than 24 hours after Conte was appointed on a three-year deal to take charge of Chelsea.

He succeeds Guus Hiddink, appointed interim manager after Jose Mourinho's sacking in December.

Conte took took over the Italian national team in August 2014 and secured their Euro 2016 qualification.

He guided Juventus to three straight Serie A titles from 2012-14 before taking charge of Italy.

Carroll having a major influence on the title race. Surely this result ends the Gooners challenge. 10 points behind with 6 to play, possibly 13 behind with 5 left after the trip to Sunderland for the Foxes.

2-horse race now. 5 games left, 7 points in it. Leicester will face trouble with West Ham next week possibly, although it should be a great game.

Villa are done and if Norwich beat Sunderland next week then you'd think they and Newcastle are also done. Would be amazing for Middlesbrough fans if they went up and their rivals went down hehe.

It's going to be a pretty average group of clubs (traditionally anyway) in the PL next year...

No Sunderland, Newcastle, Villa, all big clubs.

The teams coming up aren't the best either...

So the PFA player and young player of the year awards short lists have been announced

PFA player of the year

Mahrez, Kante, Vardy, Kane, Ozil and Payet

PFA young player of the year
Alli, Barkely, Coutinho, Butland, Kane and Lukaku

If I was handing out the awards Kante and Alli be my choice.

Kante has been absolutely brilliant this season and IMO their most important player. Vardy and Mahrez have been brilliant as well but without Kante behind them I don't think they'd be able to be as influential.

Alli for Spurs has been fantastic as well. His goal against Palace was absolutely Bergkamp-esque. Gerard commented that he loves the attitude of Alli as he plays like he truly belongs already. 5m is an absolute steal for him. Very influential in the a side challenging for the title at 19-20.

Was more basing that on what LFC weren't prepared to pay. I believe we baulked at 4.5m and wouldn't go to 5m to secure him. I don't believe Spurs only paid 2m or there ab outs. He'd be on close to that in wages alone, then there's agents fees and taxes.

All means nothing tho as he point I was making was he is worth considerably more than what we offered now.

Yeh he's worth has gone up a lot. We signed him for between 2 and 2 and half million from memory and he was on bugger all wages then we upgraded his wages to about 20K a week a few months back.

He (along with a few others) will be upgraded as soon as we have UCL qualification confirmed.
