I think you will find that the only effective forward was Taumololo. Gallen might get through a mountain of work, but it doesn't mean he played well. He quiet often does so at the expense of his team.

Honestly most of the NRL team was poor, and Gallen wasn't the worst. But he wasn't good either.

Can't argue with this!

He does overplay his hand at times.

How was Gagai's last try no try?
FFS had $$$ on last try scorer

He lost control of the ball and never regained it. Not sure that's still the rule, but last year there were plenty closer tries disallowed for losing control while grounding.

Thoroughly enjoyed that game! Sat on the couch on a Friday night, drank some JD's, zoned the commentary out and just watched some live rugby league. Better than watching f^cking cricket and despite every 2nd bloke on here having a whinge, it's great to be back regardless of the quality of game!

You have NEVER needed control, only needed downward pressure.

Didn't see tonight's example but I know this is the rule for scorin a try.

yeh but if you have the ball then drop it, and then dont regain control, its a knock on, which is what we saw tonight

But the commentators said it was a try!

That's why I turn the sound off when I can.

Amazes me how many of the commentators don't know the rules themselves.

Does it really matter? There was probably a few millimetres separation but at the end of the day awarding the try in an exhibition game wasn't going to hurt anyone. Kinda just highlighted how overly ref'd the game was. It just ruined the ending for Indigenous boys and the fans.

I agree and prefer in that match that they not even have a video ref.

However in an NRL match, I'd want that scrutinised. I'm glad they did for the sole reason that Ijizz lost his money.

I don't care about the result, just worried that the standard of refereeing looks set to continue being absolutely f**king awful with even the video ref cocking it up constantly.

Earlier in the night we had 2 touchies up close unable to rule on a put down that was both hilariously short and a knock on. Woeful.
