Sam Groth and Jarmila Gajdosova are also scheduled to play today.
Groth is 1st round match and Gajdosova 2nd round match.
Serena is certainly off...but history states you NEVER count her out. I've seen here in much worse condition and form that at the moment and yet win a major. In the old days, she could ease herself into a major....it is getting harder though as womens depth has improved a lot over time. Radwanska is no chance, Sharapova and Bouchard are every chance. At the moment, I rate Sharapova as favourite but that will change if I see good form from Serena. If they met in the final, I'd back Serena hard though.

LOL she will probably lose 1st round, typical brainless ball basher. I wouldn't be praising beauting Cibulkova and Petkovic who have barely won a match in 5 months!
We have a young Aussie trying to qualify for Melbourne next week. Maddison Inglis (not related to Greg) from WA just turned 17 yesterday (yes, born in 1988) and she's qualifying today.
She jumped rankings quite well (318 places) from year end 2013 to year end 2014 - from 1109 to 791.

Hopefully she qualifies would be a massive achievement.
You mean born in 1998.

Yeah Petkovic and Cibulkova haven't been in the best form for a while now including bad losses in Brisbane but she did also give Kvitova a scare so she could make it to the 3rd or 4th round if she gets a kind draw in Melbourne
Petkovic, Cibulkova, Daniela Hantuchova and Ana Ivanovic are my favorite 4. I would be happy if either of those 4 won in Melbourne if an Aussie girl can't win it... but sadly, I can't see it happening
