In my Mind the Live sunday time slot is now the best in the league.
Not only are Souths getting large FTA exposure every week but they now have a more friendly time slot for crowds.
I expect Souths Ave crowd will be a record this year.
If i am in charge of a club i would want the live Sunday time slot.
I agree that the live Sunday FTA spot will become the premier tv spot (behind the live Friday night match) that home teams will want to play in (sponsorship reasons).
Huge ratings in Sydney for yesterday's Sunday game. Nearly 400k in Sydney, which was unheard in years gone by when the match was delayed. In fact, more than half of that amount was considered a success last year. Second-highest rated program in Sydney behind Nine News (yes, even beating all the other primetime programs). The fact the match finished after 6pm (6:10pm to be exact) was beneficial rather than detrimental for Nine News, hence why I can see the matches being kicking off at 4:15pm rather than 4pm.
Live Sunday football on FTA is definitely here to stay. Still can't believe it took Ch9 until this season to ditch the delayed broadcast. Now, if only they could shift the delayed Friday night match to another timeslot.......
Its on purpose by nine to make sure you miss the start of the seven news
This.
Ch9 weren't upset one-bit that yesterday's match finished past 6pm. The ratings for Nine News in Sydney says it all.
Sunday night timeslot doesn't work for TV or crowds.
It could if it were at 6pm rather than 6:30pm. 6pm ensures the match finishes around 7:45-50pm. You could have a triple header on Sunday: 2pm (Fox), 4pm (Ch9), 6pm (Fox)
This would be a good timeslot if a Perth NRL franchise is admitted into the comp.
