Doing my comparison of this year's crowds to the equivalent games over the last 5 years.

Round 6 (151k) was 3k up on average (148k). We are now down 35k in total. Over 2009-14, Round 5 has averaged +5k. Given we have had our Easter weekend fairly early this year, this round is a bit of a failure.

The biggest variation this round was Bulldogs vs Rabbitohs (+15k). Note that this would be expected, since the Good Friday game alternates between being a Bulldogs or Rabbitohs home game. If I was to compare the crowd for this game against other Good Friday games, it would be +4k.

Other positives for the Round were:
- Eels vs Wests Tigers +11k
- Roosters vs Sharks +2k

These were offset by 4 negatives:
- Knights vs Dragons -8k (lowest crowd for this fixture since 2007)
- Titans vs Broncos -7k (lowest ever crowd between these 2 teams - previous worst was 20,067 in 2012)
- Storm vs Warriors -6k (lowest crowd for this fixture since 2009)
- Sea Eagles vs Raiders -4k (despite being in Albury, this was not as bad as the 2011 crowd at Brookvale)

Panthers vs Cowboys was marginally negative.

Next week's par crowd total is 128k.
- Sharks vs Knights 12k
- Broncos vs Roosters 30k
- Eels vs Titans 10k
- Warriors vs Wests Tigers 19k
- Panthers vs Sea Eagles 14k
- Raiders vs Storm 11k
- Dragons vs Bulldogs 20k
- Rabbitohs vs Cowboys 13k

Despite the graph being 35k down, if we end 2015 35k down, we will actually be 35k up on 2014's total. This is due to the NRL scheduling more high drawing games this year.
tbh you would think that they would beat the par crowd in almost every match except for the warriors and tigers, and maybe storm and raiders.

Hopefully but I highly doubt it!

Don't some St George supporters boycott ANZ stadium?

I'm guessing the Bulldog contingent might be down due to the fact half the team is out and the double standard by the NRL in regards to the Graham/Klemmer suspension compared to Sandow/Thurston/Anasta etc.

Graham and Klemmer were horrid - the pointing and so on, you could see the expletives were directed at Sutton in an almost personal manner.

I would think that the Bulldogs supporters should band together and turn up in droves rather than sook at home.

Is Wednesday and there has been no build up for the Broncos game - no ads, no extra news talk or anything. Idiotttttsssss.

I reckon Dogs fans aren't that sooky.

I hope not... Personally I was pretty p**'d off the club didn't fight the Klemmer/Graham charges (Not the Reynolds charge down) and told myself I wouldn't go to any away games, however I thought about it last night and can see it was the only option to take so the club can move on!

+ 4 Non bottle throwing Bulldog fans for Sunday :)

I have lived in the Penrith district my entire life. So I do know a little about the area and the people who live here.

You are right Penrith is a growth area, has been for a few years now. The problem though is that people moving in to the area already follow a team and that usually isn't the Panthers. May be the young kids growing up here will eventually follow the Panthers.

The Panthers club, which I am a member of has something like 50,000 members. For some reason or another the club has never been able to covert their leagues club followers in to football team followers.

Ive never liked this excuse....

If a person loves another team, it means they probably like RL in general and would be willing to attend games even if they are neutral fans (i for example have lived most of my life in the Illawarra, yet i have no affection for the Dragons. Still, i go to most Win Stadium games because i like RL).

If a locals doesnt attend games only because they dont support that clubs specifically, it is the clubs failure in providing or selling a match-day experience worth the $25 admission.

I know you guys are slow up there but here it goes again. There's more Parra and WT fans in Penrith then Panthers fans. Given both those 2 played 2 hours before it's safe to say there was 0 of them at the Panthers game.

We have about 6-8k of hardcore fans that go every week..

But we made a profit and have a team in the comp!!

Penrith est 1967 yet only has at best 8k hard core fans thats 'heartland' not true heartland. 4+ plus decades to build a support base and still small for proclaimed heartland. It be terrible if gws outdraws penrith in the future.

It's heartland in terms of junior numbers. Just not flowing onto crowd numbers unfortunately.

What if the team you actually supported played 30mins up the road on the same day?

only twice have we made the finals in consecutive years since 1967. When you have teams like Bulldogs and Parra 30 with thier success of the 80's and 90's only being 40mins away doesn't help our crowds

You would probably be part of the very small percentage of rugby league fans who do this.

I know a heap of people who love league and don’t follow the local team and not one of them goes to the local team games as a neutral.

It might make sense in Brisbane or similar where there is only the 1 option but in Sydney it is easy enough to get to your team’s home games regardless of where you live.

As said, very little people do this. Not reasonable to expect a lot of people to fork out money to attend games they share little actual interest in. Quite a few people can hardly be f**ked watching other NRL games other than their own team

This is my point though.....

It is something that would need to be actively sold to fans, which the clubs have failed to do. I dont blame fans for not going, but the clubs dont even try to promote neutral attendance and then they make excuses about how they just havent been successful lately.

The atmosphere/event is a product in itself. Clubs have simply not capitalised on it...

Brilliant weather in Brisbane today. Best weather we have had since early September from Tuesday to today.

Problem being turing winds coming from the south east to pump moisture into the air.

Apparently a 90% of 0.2mm - 5mm. Hopefully they come and go around 10-11am and we see the Sun. Could be anywhere from 31k - 34k.

Selling Maroon in Level 7, this would usually indicate at least 33k in "Suncorp GA mode", but there are a fair few tickets left throughout level 6 and a few to sell across all GA blocks.

Roughly 3 half full level 5 white bays left then white will start on level 7.
