I'm talking about ticketed membership increasing, not necessarily an overall increase - that is - non-ticketed members going, OOH this team won a title I might attend their games now.

OK following your thoughts , Bulldogs won a title this decade and were in GFs recently , why were their membership lower than Souths last year?

Admit it , you are looking for any reason to backhand Souths. Why are you not jumping on the Bulldogs numbers versus keeping on with your words of wisdom where Souths need to do better.

We won a title ELEVEN years ago. By no measure is that "in this decade".

I make no secret of the fact the 'Dogs position in membership could be significantly stronger and hope it continues to grow. The reason I highlight South Sydney is because they are an outlier when it comes to ticketed/non-ticketed ratios and I'm trying to communicate that I thought that gap would be bridged further after a GF win - a completely reasonable proposition, not an attack or "backhand".

OK Bulldogs won 11 years ago , I correct my comment to this century vs decade.

You still focus on ticketed/non ticketed

1) ignore the importance of non ticketed member outside of Sydney.
When will you consider that the NRL makes more money from MEDIA sponsorship , TV?? The importance of extended viewer interest around Australia , increases the NRL media appeal and therefore also sponsor $$$??? If you concede that increased non sydney membership is important , then why are you continually hitting on a stupid ratio which ignores that?

2) if the ticketed /non ticketed continues to be your fixation , please provide the numbers , instead of blindly using the mantra.

3) what you are really saying is that ticketed numbers are the most important. OK what are they by each club.

AND then ADD the ANZ membership by each club , because clearly an ANZ member will not by a ticketed membership for any club. This is where your "blinkered" focus no ticketed /non ticketed becomes even more boring.

It's not blinkered, it's just the current topic of discussion - but you seem intent on playing the man rather than the ball and scream bias.

nonticketed is really important too.

souths raked in 4 million dollars from memberships last year, and id guess a million from non-ticketed.

what NRL club wouldnt want an extra million dollars a year by boosting nonticketed memberships??

and they still have more ticketed memberships than probably all the other sydney clubs' TOTAL memberships, although i havent checked.

I think you're forgetting the value add that ticketed membership can add - particularly from at-game merchandise purchases.

I think you ignore all the good points raised and continue with your feeble views. This is a forum and if someone continues with feeble line of argument they deserve to treated as a punching bag.

I can see you just are torn up that Souths are now #1 with membership , get good crowd attendances home/away , have great sponsorship , ( if you bothered to know , Souths had great merchandise sales last year), ran a profit last year , have $$ owners , not to mention currently hold the title for all possible competitions Premiership Winners, Nines , World Champions .

I know you hate Souths , however interesting you just want to spend your time advising Souths what they are currently doing wrong and need to improve on. lol on you.

Cute. South Sydney are a very well run business and football club and I've never once said they run it poorly or that their membership program isn't the best around. I'm sure they're probably sitting there wondering how they can continue improving it and delivering it better.

It's really a bit sad that I'm actually trying to have reasoned debate and your default response is that I hate Souths and it's all about envy.

P.S. they didn't win the minor premiership, so they actually don't hold the title for all possible competitions.

oh just asking.
seems (in my opinion anyway )they have moved from just straight up "score, scorer time etc" to more editorial take on moments.

anyway, good on the doggies and souths for having so many members and being succesfull.

Nothing wrong with a bit of personality! Also plenty more features and opinion columns this year. Plenty happening in the space.
