Rumour is Eels will have different design jersey next season something like the 86 jersey. Maybe the away jersey will be scrapped not sure the home jersey can be just yet.

Why do teams need away jerseys for the finals? There was never a problem with similar colours pre-2000

The negative side of me thinks that a lot of the reason the Broncos are wearing the Heritage Jersey is the corrected William Hill sponsorship on the back - the home jersey still has the outdated SportingBet. The Broncos said they wouldn't change the home/away jersey this year as they had sold a lot in the pre-season before the company (William Hill) was renamed just before the start of the season. They have worn the Heritage more than normal this year....

Not saying that the design isn't alot better.

I assume that the strip preference order is now....

Brisbane
Melbourne
Easts
North Qld

Easts lost their higher standings rights once they lost their qualifying final, as the prelim final venues also show. They've dropped down the pecking order behind both Brisbane and Melbourne now.

Good question. I think it goes off prelim final order?? I would hope so, would make for a better looking clash, I'm not a fan of Melbourne's away but their home is decent.

Broncos seem to be going with the heritage as much as possible, wouldn't be surprised if we wore it against the roosters

Melbourne's current away jersey would be more effective with white shorts to avoid some match-day strip similarities. Their Wk 1 final against Easts was horrendous on the eye.

I know this is s weird thing to say, but I hate watching two teams with mismatched jerseys and shorts!

Agree: maroon jerseys / white shorts VS white jerseys / purple shorts is hideous. But even say easts vs manly (maroon top white shorts vs white top navy shorts) is hard on the eye.

A Cowboys / Roosters grand final would be annoying with navy/white vs white/navy

The Cowboys away is better than their home... should be a good looking match up this weekend in Melbourne.

Broncos will def wear the yellow, all prematch posters etc showing us in that. Roosters will get to wear their home jersey too which is good.

The Broncos yellow heritage should be a permanent jersey, with a reversed (predominately maroon) heritage style strip as the other.

I like the collars but they are just slightly too floppy, make them a bit smaller and the jersey is great.

I kind of see what you mean but I wouldn't like the monochrome look (for example in that pic Roosters in dark pants Cowboys in white).

Fair enough...I would prefer that, but I guess it's personal preference

There is something appealing to me about really contrasting kits. Not necessarily monochrome, but big contrast.

Think sky blue vs maroon origin, All blacks vs gold of wallabies, Liverpool red vs Chelsea royal blue, Lakers gold vs Chicago Bulls red etc.

Navy/white vs white/navy doesn't do it for me.

The bottom pic is just amateur hour for a professional League these days. That should never happen. Even the top pic with Parra in the gold jersey should have shorts and socks differentiated too to give an overall contrast.....basically a gold version of their home blue. The shorts and socks are still practically the same (apart from the trim) to Canterbury's in the top pic.

Pretty confident it goes on ladder seedings - Roosters or Broncos in their chosen jersey with Melbourne in all likelihood in their away kit.

2008. Melbourne finish 1st. Manly 2nd. Storm lose in week 1. Manly win in week 1. Come grand final time it's Eagles home and Storm away.

I think if team finishes higher on the ladder and progresses to the GF without losing a finals match they are home but the pecking order changes in the event they drop week one as the roosters did.

Though I could be wrong.

Hope the Broncos trash their away kit and wear their heritage jersey. Was the only good thing to see in their clash vs us at the SFS.

I'm a big fan of the Roosters away jersey and I hope they keep it with their regular jersey.

Agreed with some that the Cowboys away is better than their home, it gives me 95' vibes.

Cowboys heritage is where it's at. That and the inverse should be their jerseys for next season. Here's hoping.
